2nd pair of S4i II stopped working [:@]

Hi all,

I've had my S4i II since last december(2012). They worked fine till end of March and had to send them in for a replacement. My left channel had stopped working. Now this week, my right channel and my mic/remote stops working. I am really pissed. I've been carrying them around in the case since I got the first replacement pair. I am very disappointed with the build quality of those IEMs. I know there's a 2 year warranty and I will be sending them again this week, but I am just very annoyed that they are not lasting long enough.

I've had 3 pairs break in the past 5 months with normal use. They absolutely have a quality control problem with these (read amazon reviews) however if you try to ask for a different model via warranty and support they ignore the question.

Holy! 3 pairs in 5 months.
There weren't a lot of bad reviews on amazon when I bought them. Now I regret getting them.

Turns out one of my colleagues has one too and he also had to send his for a replacement.

It's been a month since I sent my earphones back and I haven't heard from anyone yet.

Can anyone please tell me who to contact?

I've sent an email to service@gentec-intl.com as they deal with the warranty in Ontario and haven't heard from them yet either.

I bought my s4 in January. Replaced them in February, replaced again in May, those broke in 2 months. Got annoyed and was too lazy to send the s4 in again. Started using free headphones they lasted 5 months so now I'm back to replacing the s4 again. The longest I've had a pair of s4 last is 2 months. Good to know free headphones last 3 times as long. Tried to get Klipsch to let me pay the extra to switch to the Image one (II) but they wouldn't. So I'll continue to replace my s4 for the rest of the warranty. I'm guessing I'll have 8-10 replacements by the time 2 years hits.

Thankfully their warranty and service is good. It's just annoying replacing every 2 months.

I have the S4 ii. I had the problem of the area above the jack stopped working the connection was lost if I moved the cable around I could get some connection. They worked fine for a year. Looks like all try a different brand.

So, last Sunday my s4i (II) stopped working again. This time the problem is a bit different. Only the mic does not work. The rest works fine which I find strange. I thought the remote and mic would give up at the same time.

Hi all,

Its surprising to me that so many people have had problems with headphones from such a well known company.  My s4i rugged headphones went out a couple months ago.  A gift, I know they were bought for top dollar and were advertised as bomber.  I've been trying to get Klipsch to warranty them for months, and their customer service has been horrendous, with weeks in between responses.    After seeing all the posts about these things going out I can't believe that Klipsch won't send a new pair, no questions asked.  Lack of customer service is unforgivable.  I am in the market for high-end speakers like the Palladiums, but those are now off my list.

I've been through probably 6 or 7 pairs in the 15 months I've had my S4A II. The customer service has always been outstanding, they take care of the problem in two weeks or less. Iasked to upgrade also and pay the balance, but was turned down. I'm going to buy a second pair so I have a replacement while the other pair is replaced.

Koonie, you're in the market for a pair of high end speakers like Palladiums but not after your experience with these $100 retail ear buds? That's funny! If you want to buy a pair of headphones and not buds, you will hear a huge difference in sound quality as well as durability. Throwing out that doesn't impress anyone and will get you nowhere fast. Suerte!

You know what else is funny? That you're gonna buy another pair to tide you over while your first pair is repaired! Kinda like: "My Ford keeps breaking so I'm gonna buy another ford so I'll have something to drive while my other ford is constantly in the shop" Thats hilarious.

You have a good point, the difference is I can buy another pair on sale at Best Buy for $69.99. I can also use the buds that came with with the Galaxy 5 phone. Saying you wont buy a pair of Palladiums because a $70 pair of buds isn't very good logic.

That's like saying I wont buy a Mustang because my Ford Focus isn't up to the same caliber.

If you would read Amy's post that is pinned, there are a million fakes on the market. Why would Klipsch NOT have the right to inspect the buds to make sure they aren't counterfeit?

I have had a pair of S4 for more than 4 years.  I have never had one minute worth of trouble out of them until recently, and I have abused them.  They took everything I threw at them, and then some.  Only yesterday they started to crackle and drop out in one ear.  Way out of warranty but I have gotten well more than my money's worth.  And they sound very good.  Sorry you guys had trouble with your S4's but mine have been very good.  So good that I intend to get another pair.
