friend
hi, sorry for bothering once again. i have a portable cd player, laptop, and a tv with headphone out in my room. everytime i want to use one of these with my promedia, i have to disconnect the "IN" wire and connect it with the other one. what i am asking is, is there a way to connect all these three devices with my promedia at the same time and not have to switch connection? so when i play tv, i get tv sound, when i play cd player, i get songs, etc....? please let me know if it is possible!!! thank you. asudhir
i am 90% that this sort of thing is possible. if you go to a specialty electronics store (i.e. RadioShack) you might be able to find a 'switcher' which you connect all the outputs into, and then you connect the speakers to, and when you want to switch between them, there are either buttons for each output, or a slider. my friend had one of these, because he too has a tv and two computers in his room. i'm very sorry i don't have any specifics of this sort of thing, as i just saw it once at his house. if RadioShack doesn't know or have a such thing, you might want to go to an online electronics forum and ask, i guarantee they'll have info. *zen
friend
hi "asudhir", thanks for your help. i do know about the switcher where you can just press few buttons to switch, but what i am asking is for something where i don't have to do anything. meaning, if i turn on tv, i get sounds from tv through my pros with pressing switch button and when i play cds, i get sound from cds. you know what i mean? sorry for all this confusion!!! Paragon
Easiest way is to hook them up to you input of the soundcard.. but of course you'll have to have your computer on when ya want to use it. Else ya can get some Y-adapters and that should work Or ya can make you own cable with diodes in there to make sure the signal flows in the correct direction That should work but it has been a while since I played with diodes Good Luck.. ------------------ All Your Base Are Belong To Us ------------------------------------- 1GHz TBird Abit KT7A-RAID FOP38 & CuShim Kingmax 256MB PC150 Annihilator2 32MB GTS Intel Pro100+Management NIC Promise Ultra100 IBM 75GXP 45GB ATA100 & Maxtor DMP6800 27.2GB ATA66 Plextor 16X10X40A Sony 12X DVD SBLive! 5.1 AOpen HX08 Full Tower 300W Sony CPD-G400 19" Triny ProMedia 4.
