To get a URL for a pic, you need to put it online somewhere. There are sites like Flickr.com, photobucket, and others that let you do this for free.

If you are trying to post a picture here in our forums, you can attach images to your post (which uploads them from your computer and adds them to the post)

Go to the bottom below the typing area and use Attach Files.

There are 3 steps. First use Browse to select your file, then use Attach This File and last you will see an option to Add to Post.

I added this picture this way

So you can't just put a url in the image box? When I tried, I got the error message :

You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.

you can, but some sites put things at the end of the url that makes it error here. what's the url?

I think I know what I did wrong. When I went to the image, I copied and pasted the url from the properties of the pic. Instead, I should have clicked the image and gotten the url from that image instead. Sorry.
