Despite his recent troubles, however, I read yesterday where his approval rating is actually 1 percentage point higher than President Obama's at this time... Rick Mercer, a Canadian comedian, commented that the people of Toronto would vote for a gerbil if it saved them a dollar on their property taxes, and the comments under it just confirmed what he said. Comments like: "What the mayor does on his own time is his own business." They seemed to not notice that the City Council is barely functioning, thanks to the mayor's antics. What he does on his own time, as well as what he does in public, is messing up everyone else's business, but he himself does not seem to understand that.
