Taz
Klipsch K 42 Woofer Does anyone have any info on which speakers this fit? What it might be worth? How much of a demand there is for it? Taz
Frzninvt
That is the pro version of the Heresy woofer. Used in the KP 201 or KP 250 perhaps in the earlier versions of the HI & HIP (Heresy Industrial Ported). It adds increased power handling at the expense of low end bass performance. Well suited for PA applications.
Taz
Since I have a pair of KP 250, maybe I should go ahead and get this speaker. That way mine won't go out and I can keep it forever. Or maybe until someone else needs one. Maybe someone needs one now? Taz
djk
Buy the Eminence Delta Pro 12A.
dwillie
What should we know and appreciate about the Eminence Delta Pro 12A? Is is considered an even up replacement, or an upgrade? I have 4 pro Heresy that are "woofer-tired" and need attention. d.
djk
It's pretty much a straight up replacement. http://www.eminence.com/pdf/Delta_Pro_12A.pdf
Frzninvt
That woofer looks hefty!

djk
Yes, the original was an OEM version of the EVM12L (my HIP had the EV's). The Eminence is a close clone.
Taz
If I was to have to replace 1 woofer, would the Eminence Delta Pro 12A match with the stock speaker? The Eminence Delta Pro 12A much more then the $30 I can get the used K42 for. Don't know whether to get the K42 or wait until I have problems, if I do and then get 1 Eminence. Or if I able at that time get 2? Edited December 2, 2013 by John W. Henderson
djk
I would always use pairs, and an EV K42 is not a good match for an Eminence K42 either, IMO.

Since it's been hanging on the wall a while I may let it hang. Of course if someone wants it I go into Eugene quite often. Is it worth $30 for a spare should I need it in the future? colterphoto1
Yes, early HIP was the EVM12L, later the K42 was used. You'll find it in KP250 (both versions), KSM12 stage monitor, and the KP262, a splendid little 2-way trap cabinet.
ClaudeJ1
It's pretty much a straight up replacement. http://www.eminence.com/pdf/Delta_Pro_12A.pdf I agree. Just did a WT-3 Woofer test routine on two of my K-42's, made by Eminence, from the KPT-200's and the specs appear to be (withing tolerance) the same as the Delta Pro 12A and the frame looks the same except for the Delta pro has nicer wire connectors. ClaudeJ1
The original K 42 may have been the Electro Voice EVM 12L. A classic guitar and PA woofer. I'm pretty sure that it was. Had two of them, but now the newer ones are made by Eminence.

JohnA
The Delta 12A is Probably the same as the K-42-EP in a KSM-12-II.
