oldenough
I wouldn't say so, especially if you are actually looking for a nice pair, and those certainly do look to be nice.
rhing
Ask the seller if he has the original boxes. If he doesn't, offer $600 and negotiate from there. They do look nice.
tromprof
In my area (Southeast Ohio) that would be high unless upgraded with Crites crossovers etc., but prices do vary depending on where you are. A lot of military guys in San Antonio, so I would think there would be a lot of Klipsch on the used market. They were sold for really great deals at the BX back in the 80s and 90s. bobdog
I think he is asking too much. Also if it were me I would be looking for Forte IIs or even Chorus IIs. 5 years ago I bought mint pair of IIs (as in they looked and sounded brand new in every way packed in the original boxes) for $550 off Ebay. I have also passed on a $600 set of minty Chorus IIs for sale locally to me. Be patient.
derrickdj1
It all depend on how long you have been looking for the speaker and how often they come up in your area. If they are really nice and you like the sound, it may be a while before another mint pair comes your way.
Heritage_Head
Looks good to me . But I'm not a budget shopper that cares if i could wait another year to save 50 or 100 dollars. If they are what you want and 700 isn't your life savings buy them.
denzien
Yes, too expensive for stock Fortes. I'm not familiar with the market in your area, but I'd think closer to $500 is reasonable.
lo123
Unless Fortes have skyrocketed in price over the last two years, somewhere closer to the $500 range sounds more reasonable. If you are buying them without hearing them, bear in mind that crossovers and horn drivers, diaphragms, etc. may need refreshing or replacement. Local with chance to audition is a plus. Negotiate if you want them.
CECAA850
The ad is down. 700 seems high to me.
MikeSt
Thanks everyone, I waited and got a set of stock Forte 1s for $400. They're better for rock music than the KLFs imo. The Fortes are more alive sounding and the midrange for guitars is not as pushed back in the mix as the KLFs. I'd like there to be even more midrange personally, maybe because I play guitar. The KLFs had a stronger and tighter low end but I don't miss it.
