The wider you build it the flatter your response will be.

The smaller the room the more room gain it will have.

No 2 rooms are the same so your results will vary.

Your average room will result in 12dB gain per octave below 30Hz but like i said all rooms can vary & driver position will make a difference also.

The best looking position for your cabinet is not always best spot but like everything else in life there has to be compromises.

We have a pair of LaScalla's needing some help with deep bass and Bill's Tuba's are the way we are going. Am hoping to not sacrifice too much floor space. I need to let my ears be the judge and spend a little more time on the forums reading what you have to say.

We also have a pair of Heresy II's and a pair of Peavey SP-5's that more than likely will replace the LaScalla's because of the horns. Once we decide on the subs get them built and in use will decide on how best to deliver the mids and highs.
