Newf
Hello everyone, i am new to this forum, I have purchased a new system 2 F30 towers, a rc62 center, 2 b10 speakers and a 12 inch synergy, with a onkyo tx-nr626. First of all i was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a good setup before i actually unbox all this stuff, and if so i am prewiring my house tomorrow if anyone may have some tips? Thanks Edited December 8, 2013 by Newf
twistedcrankcammer
Hi Newf, and welcome to the forum! Is your house new construction that you are wiring, or possibly wiring the basement for your system?? Roger

Scrappydue
Welcome to the forum! Great place around here with lots of helpful guys. Can I ask why you bought speakers from different series?
Newf
Haha not really sure i knew what i was doing, bought all of it at best buy where no one really seemed to be very knowledgable, should they be changed?
twistedcrankcammer
Newf, Hope you like the forum and stay awhile, most of us like scrappydue and myself are here daily. Make sure you wire for future upgrades like a second sub and a separate amp as most of us here are bitten with the disease upgrade it is. Also consider running wire if you may some day want to go 7 channel surround. I ran separate circuits for my amplifires and my subs... Thaddeus Smith
According to this, the C-20 might be a better center channel for your system. The one you picked up is from the reference series and isn't sonically matched for the F-20's. http://www.klipsch.com/f-30-home-theater-system welcome to the forums! BUT the rc-62 I'm sure is a MUCH better center than the c-20.

Newf
any opinions on onkyo?
Scrappydue
I own an older onkyo and I like it. You have the newest model. I'm sure it will be great. Not sure how great of a deal you got On the synergy f series. But if I were to offer any advice it would be to go with a full reference series as they are a much more high performance speaker. Maybe two rf-62's to match the center and then either RB-61 or rs-42 or even rs-52 for rears. I prefer the surround style over a bookshelf for 5.1 surround
twistedcrankcammer
Newf, How much did you spend total, and is that the limit of your budget or could you spend a little more, if so, how much?? Then maybe scrappy could recommend the peaker setup that would work best for you. Also, what is the size of the room you have for listening in the basement?? Finally, the center speaker and the sub are the most important in your system IMHO, and the basement is going to eat bass from your subs output. Give us the info, and we will try to help you out... Newf
i dont really know if i got a deal or not 2400 for the whole system, but again i am really new to this, so maybe i paid too much Edited December 8, 2013 by Newf
Newf
i am happy blowing around 3000 all together for a good system though, the room is 11 by 32 Edited December 8, 2013 by Newf
Scrappydue
Whoa!! Let me look up a few prices real quick. But that seems high to me.
twistedcrankcammer
Newf, One thing on the Onkyo.... Does it have pre outs so you can add an amplifier later? Scrappy is correct, the reference series is much better if you can swing the coin for it. Your center channel speaker is a good start to build your system around if you can swing the investment.
