JL Sargent
oldenough, what was the lens/camera that you used to capture the eagle shot with? That's a nice un! Edited December 19, 2013 by JL Sargent
oldenough
I think I used my Sony a77 with 70-300G, or I may have used the Sony A900...It's an extreme crop, but the lens is amazing. It was only one of a couple of eagles that I saw all day so I really got lucky.
JL Sargent
I'm guessing you took a high pixel count RAW photo to get that nice of a crop down. I'd guessed 400 or 500mm lens. I'd like to get a Canon L 300mm prime at F2.8 for my Canon 7D camera but they kinda pricey. My deer photo above was with a 200 2.8.

oldenough
JL,No that was actually a jpeg. Yes that canon lens is pricey, but a very nice lens. I am able to loan a friends Minolta 300mm 2.8 whenever I need to, I have been bugging him to sell it to me, the Sony version has a $7000 price tag. oldenough
Do you still own your first camera? Here is mine, given to me by an uncle in 1962 he was a pro photographer and a mountaineer. A couple of years later I bought my first Rolleiflex TLR. That old camera still takes a picture every now and then, and still not a bad camera. Edited December 19, 2013 by oldenough

tube fanatic
This little cutie "adopted" me and my wife 5 years ago. We were outside and she walked over, got within about 10 feet of us, and just stopped and stared. Ever since, she comes by whenever she's in the area and we hand feed her carrots (her favorite food!) She even knows which windows to look in- my computer is next to a window in the family room and on numerous occasions I've found her with her nose nearly pressed against it looking at me. Same for the kitchen window. She also loves to have her picture taken!!!

That's actually a neighbors dog. So sweet... I had a shepherd when I was young though. I loved that dog too.

JL Sargent
shepard is sorta like shepherd isn't it? My nephew spells his name Shepard so at least I have that excuse. Christopher, do the turbines belong to the Power Co. in your area? Nothing like that around here.
