jwc
Why not share some of my insanity over the last few years.... Here is one for the space confined. Tractrix dual 12" bass Horn ported 40Hz. Fc somewhere around 70Hz with 1/4 space calc. In this Horn is dual K-31's.

jwc
The two dips. On just after 100Hz and the other just past 200Hz is my room. Reproduced on many measurements in the past.

jwc
The 3/4" plywood used here was the cheapie from home depot. The usual thickness that is just less than 3/4 inch.
Guest David H
Nice, the mini punch plans surfaced. This is such a cool design. I still need to build a set of these. Dave Edited January 21, 2014 by GotHover
toolz
That is an interesting design. Lets see I have a couple of k-31's, some plywood, pipe....looks like a spring project. JWC what size pipe did you use for the ports? Edited January 21, 2014 by toolz
jwc
4" you can change the length depending on the woofers used or tune point. I wouldn't try too much below 40Hz. Edited January 21, 2014 by jwc
jwc
I would ditch the porting if you are using a sub. You could build 2 different back panels. One ported and one not..... just to fool around
ClaudeJ1
JC, Is this the one you painted black and used with the MCM Grand top end?
jwc
Naw. That one is bigger. Full space design tractrix with two twelves. I haven't shown those plans. This one is 1/4 space tractrix
seti
Nice.... Doesn't that give you the itch for more building?
tromprof
Very nice looking! How would you subjectively compare them to a La Scala bass bin?
etalon90
JWC or others, I know this is an old thread but it is worth a try. I would like to learn to calculate those horn design, is there a spreadsheet for such design. I would like to build a quadstack with 15'' with a FC of around 40hz. Horn length is small and that what appeal me so much with such. Thanks
