jbsl
Justin Weber from Amps and sound gave me a discount on a pre production model Stereo 15 he had and I have been enjoying it for the last 5 days now. I do not have a preamp so first I hooked my Oppo 103 up to the Stereo 15(ST 15) and used the volume control on the Oppo remote with very good results. Next I tried the passive preamp Justin provided with about the same results as the O 103. Finally I tried the pre out of my Denon 4800 with the best results. It had been 5 years since I had used a tube amp and I have been enjoying the ST 15 since I got it! I plan to use the tubes Justin sent with it for 2-3 months and then try some different EL-84s. I want to thank Justin for answering my questions and the quick responses to my emails! I want also want to thank him for adding the passive preamp to the deal at no extra cost! Here is two links on the Klipsch forum to other people who have bought or used one of Justin’s amps. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/148025-my-new-tube-amp-from-ampsandsound/ https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/147874-amps-and-sound-se-84/

whatever55
Not to hijack this thread but how would this compare to VRD's ? Audio wise...
Guest David H
I am sure both amps sound great, but the VRD will have signifigantly more power. I demo one of Justin's early stereo 15 with sovtec tubes for several months. Great amp. The VRD's are Kt-88's the stereo 15 is el-84's. Guest David H
It's really tough to compare unless they are side by side and one of them sounds terrible. That being said, I would say the stereo 15 was favorable I'n comparison to my rebuilt dynaco, health kits, and Eico 84's. I have never owned or heard a Scott, always wanted one. Dave Yep, that's about the best way to put it. I have a Scott LK48-B. It's one of my favorite tube amplifiers with my Cornwalls. Being a integrated is even more of a bonus I suppose. They have rather nice sounding phono stages.

kevinmi
I have a KT-88 based system and an EL-84 based system. The KT-88 system is of course a lot more powerful, The EL-84 tube is a great sounding tube and really brings out the best in the "tube sound" in my opinion. I haven't heard Justin's amps yet, but I'm sure they have that tube magic that goes so well with big ole horn speakers!
