How you guys doing?

We are OK. Both ways in to my home were closed last night, had to wait until 9PM to get in the "back" way. The fire was pretty much contained to an undeveloped nature preserve area. If it had been allowed to jump a couple roads we would have been in deep doo-doo. Thanks for your prayers one and all.

Glad you're safe.  I hope it amounts to nothing more than a minor inconvenience for you.

Power was out for 7 hours......back on at 5:30am.  No trees down.  Yep we dodged a bullet.

Good, it was kind of a rubber bullet, it had been dieing off for the last 500 miles. Just glad it did not stay 185 mph the whole time like it did until it hit the islands.

But OT declared "nobody cares" I thought he spoke for all.

Not everyone it seems, for some reason it was not even in the news here until yesterday, no idea why. Glad your OK.

@BigStewMan, not a emergency, except for maby you, a new ketchup idea.

i can see how that would help the “rookies.”  I remember, sometime in the early 1980s, struggling with a particular stubborn bottle of ketchup. I was having breakfast at a casino in Reno. Suddenly this older guy, dirty as if he’d been living on the streets, walks up and says that he’s going to help me ... He grabs the bottle out of my hand and takes a knife and sticks it into the bottle and try to force the ketchup out.  Well, i grabbed the bottle back, said thank you, then set it aside and stole another bottle from a different table.

Back in the day of clean white blue jeans I wound up at a BBQ and decided on a nice big juicy burger w/all the trimmings.  Took the cap off a new bottle of ketchup and nothing, so I started beating the end of the bottle.  Worked perfectly!  The neck of the bottle broke off and I had the entire bottle of ketchup in my lap.  Yea, only me in front of about 30 high rollers I didn't know.   Hosed them off, hung em on a chair and suited up for the pool.  I musta heard about it 100 times that day.  Only me!

you and a famous person whose name i won’t mention; but, in public felt he had to fart so he let one rip.  Except it wasn’t a fart and he crapped his pants, proving the truth from that movie the Bucket List where Jack Nicholson says, “Never trust a fart."

I think of that every time I see Al.  Wasn't it at the White House?

Made second coffee today. For the first time in years I hit the Greek Festival today. Missed it last few times because it always used to coincide with the Festival in the Park that starts the third week in Sept. Fun stuff especially for the kids, fantastic food and pastries! The Lemon Trout (they don't even call it that anymore) isn't trout since twenty years ago and the lemon mutton and chicken are special too. The regular stuff on the side - pastichio, spanikopita, dolmades and everything else too.

What I dig are the koulourakia; the first coffee I ever had probably in 1967 or 8 was for dunking these into at my neighbors house. They're a not very sweet twisted butter cookies that just crumble when you eat them... delicate. The coffee has to be doctored with cream and I don't mind for these at all. Baklava and the other sweets are ok but this is the real deal!!

There is a Greek festival in Tucson. Can't say I've been. If it involves food, can't be bad.

nothing happening here. Prolly should have gone "downtown" this AM. 1st Saturday of the month street market. Getting time to see some local tomatoes.

May be a slim year for them. Been too warm. They won't set fruit. Cherry toms are not bothered by it.

still waiting for rain. We're getting a little humidity from TS Ferdnand. Rumbling around. We'll see.  "Monsoon" is winding up. Not a good year for summer rain.

Power was out for 53 hours here . My bad for living on a side street and not the neighborhood that it's connected to . Was woken up Saturday morning by a cool breeze . Yay for power ! Need to work on my food management skills because I lost a lot . "Can't remember the last time my cheese drawer was empty 😳"

Gotta cook everything that is gonna spoil, and share with the neighbors.

"Looks like makings for a big bbq" when I saw the storm prep vids on TV.... Fridge packed with perishables.  We drank ice cream after it lost its cooling ability...

How is everyone today?

suffered a momentary lapse into adolescence...  Recorded WoW.. Women of Wrestling

Same story line they were working 50 years ago. Had me chuckling.

What do you watch at 3:30AM? No, not up late.... up early

Working on leftover Peruvian coffee.  Still talking rain. Put up or shut up.   Talk is cheap and all that...

Haven't heard anything on the Heresy.  I bet they are reconsidering.
