Ok guess I need to get back to work since I spend half of the day reading and drinking coffee, but the music is playing and the coffee was good, could be worse.

Posted because it's was close to 24 hours since the last post here we have some standards even if there low.

.... o O (Coffee good)

but getting there (this morning) caught me off-guard.... I mean, the weather is perfect... somehow I overslept, had 30 minutes to get to work, made a modified 1 1/2 instead of 2 cup's... then the cat kept messin' with me, doing that thing like - where's mine... so I grabbed his bowl off the counter, (boom) it stuck me, cat's don't drink coffee... and luckily I returned the coffee pot to the maker, got the cat food for the cat... then got me a good full cup of coffee... and the rest is History !

Agenda for the day

go to the store.

Almost out of drugs. Tobacco and coffee beans. Wonder what we have for a selection. They're all good. I'm not crazy about dark roasts and tend to steer away from FrenchRoast and CapeHorn. CapeHorn is a DARK roast and if you are in the mood, is excellent

Have to get the wife to the airport tomorrow AM....  We need to be out of the house at 5AM.She changes planes in Dallas.... to a regional carrier. I suggested she get assistance getting from A - B there. Only an hour between flights. Last time I was there, faced a similar deal. And I was most happy for being escorted. If I had been a healthy young OJ Simpson, I would not have made the connection.

wife asked if I wanted her to bring anything back...

"No. Anything I want would be too big, heavy or electronics".  do ya think the airlines would be OK toting a pair of KHorns?

Homemade Hot Mustard

At dinner the other night, we had home smoked ham and bratwurst-among lots of other seasonal foods- I was missing home made hot mustard.

I used to make my own but it's been a long time.  I remember---

Keen's dry mustard

Honey and or brown sugar

Vinegar

I don't remember any other ingredients or ratios.

Anybody?

Keep the sugar out.  Hot mustard just needs mustard and water/wine, vinegar if you prefer.

I get to "stay home" for few days... Got wife under way. Dropped her off at the airport this AM. I was proud of her. We got out of the house when I wanted... 5AM

Pick her up Tuesday.

Got a bag of Mexibeans at the store, yesterday.  I'm happy

Wife is happy. They got her a big bag[10lb or more] of Basmati rice. Comes in the burlap bag.

Basmati is nice with some poultry or fish to me.

I've eaten chicken salad then broiled fish since about last Friday. Liked the chk especially with the cranberry/walnut whole wheat that was a gift last week. Needed something different...aged beef is good, well not dry aged but the sell by date was yesterday and I got that Angus for 30% less. Rainy weather is what it takes for the big 24 hour store to put the nice cuts on sale but my grill is out in the open. Not a drop today and cool and perfect for making a fire but plans were laid with the leftover shrooms from the salads. My cholesterol is always so good that I go berserk for one meal a month so I fried this strip with butter and burgundy rare-to-med.

Lindt 70% for dessert. No coffee this late today but the tea is spiked for medicinal purposes!

Yesterday's news regarding metal shavings in Taco Bell Beef was the last straw for me (first Death in the Box puts a half pound burger on their menu, then don't ensure that they cook it properly; you died quickly if you were lucky).

My faithful assistant was on had to supervise and ensure I had the fat content under control. So Ground Round and Ground Tri-Tip.

As usual I rewarded him with his high fiber dry food. But he is always optimistic that something will fall out of the sky and land in his mouth.

Wonder if it came from when they put everything in the blender before putting it in the tortilla:huh:

When tacohell couldn't make things look like their picture above I curtailed going there. I carried the supreme burrito back to the counter and asked what was in it because it looked like you know what. Couldn't see lettuce or cheese or sour cream or salsa or beans or beef: just gulag slop. Asked if they put it in a blender, he said yes. Asked for my money back he said no, the manager gave it back because it was impossible to tell what I was consuming.

There is real mexican food that is too easy to find around here. Like our Qdoba too!

I found good Mexican food in Indiana.

I applied a little acoustic treatment to the living room.  We have/had a pseudo oriental rug in the bedroom. It went to the LR. Can't really tell that there is a big difference. Wife likes it, from a decorator sense.

wb,

your dog's high fibre diet reminds me of an infomercial

1] "Does your dog poop too much?"

that is just stupid. If a dog poops at all, it's too much

there is another infomercial

"Do you poop enough?"

I have a solution for folks that suffer both...  eat your dog's food and give the dog your plate.

would prolly result in a premature death of the dog.

If you saw behind the scenes at any restaurant, you’d have a hard time eating out anywhere.  Our business did some work for a large mid-scale chain restaurant that just opened a new place a few weeks ago.  Walking through the kitchen you would think the place had been open for years, rather than weeks.  It will be a while before I can eat at that place.
