My comment was in reference to our low temp this morning...it was -2...or two below....Tupelo Ms:D

My wife thinks my humor is pretty cheesy also!

Sorry about your pepper plants...did you save them?

Tu pelo should be against the law it's so cold, need to talk Al Gore I guess.

I don't bother trying to save the peppers, there are other pots out there and some in the ground. I usually just let them freeze, after they get crispy I pull off the peppers and drop them in the pot and get rid of the crispy plant. In the spring I just break up the dried peppers and mix in the dirt. Worked so far, and cheaper than annuals.

Snow is blowin' now....

If it's going to be 21 here tonight like they said I wish it would snow like that, it does look cool, and it would thrill the wife.

I know Californian is behind on rain and water is needed, but I don't think getting 3 months worth of rain in a 48 hour period is wanted. Winter storm Iras looks nasty. Parts or Oregon might receive 3/4" of ice first, then snow. That much ice can be deadly.

I'm currently watching the weather channel. Their headline is "from drought to deluge in California"

I'm glad you're on high ground Mark....stay safe.

Gary that was some memorial for Boxx last night......well done.  I didn't stick around very long....had a pneumonia vaccine in one arm and flu shot in the other and wasn't feeling good.  Matter of fact I was sleeping before it started and woke up to participate for awhile.

I know Mrs. Boxx and Maccagirl were pleased with the turn out and remembrances of Boxx.

Thank you for putting this tribute together.

Good morning friends...............Mark, I guess the weather queens hit it right this time ?  ;)

Weather Drama Queens:

It's not about them being right.

It's presented as though it's the ONLY news happening that day.

You need to flip channels in order to find real news.

In fact they made a special effort last night to inform everyone they would be on an hour early today.

Mark, I totally understand what you are saying...............  I remember when we were going to get a major snow storm, it was pretty good reporting (years ago).............now, they send the news crew out on locations when we are only getting a couple of inches!!!!  They pick it up off the ground and those what is in their hands..............it is crazy........   When I was a kid, we WALKED a mile to school, and it didn't matter what the winter storms were.   YOU WENT TO SCHOOL!

Chuck, you are very welcome.  I will put up a formal thankyou to everyone in the message area, so watch for that...

...........off to the coffee machine  (people will be getting up and wondering where the heck there is no  coffee smell )

Funny you mentioned that. Two years ago we hit a low of -18 one night. My $14 cheapo TSC thermometer froze that night, it was stuck at -8:o

The repetition of the same stuff is what gets me too. Last week the local media predicted 3-5" of snow. All we got was a dusting. So they get in the TV SUVs and went driving around looking for me snow.

12 here this morning. That's COLD for Alabama!

That is cold. I'll bet a few folks are waking up with no water, got to leave a faucet running.

Yep, Miner,Tiger you got it right and its the same wherever weather is reported, for sure here in KC is no exception. ANY type of inclimate weather is the headline. It's ridiculus and almost insulting as they also advise you what to wear on a frigid morning. How about a heavy coat and gloves like we've all been doing for a hundred years?! And I believe in between meteorology school and broadcasting a must stop is the local junior college's drama department. Where thy could actually provide a public service they have become laughing stocks and as a now famous member states "drama queens". So true ---

Been cold here too, low single digits to high teens, low twenties. Now to watch the "weather" for instructions on how to drive and what to wear. Oh yeah let's not forget the report from the hiway dept salt barn. Such intrigue there ---//
