WillyBob
Hair is one thing i have over all the males is my family. Still sporting a head full of hair ---- maybe that why I can't think. Stops the lone marble from rattling... the stock market is not one of my worries. No, I am not independently wealthy. We are on the opposite end of that spectrum. Wife teaches K-4 in 2 room school. AZ teachers are too close to the bottom of the national pay scale. And I retired from the bowling industry as a pinsetter tech. I dealt with cast iron machines that were originally designed to run purely mechanically. Modified to accept some electronics ...coupled to computer scorers. Have to know a little bit of everything. Plus "greenskeeping" duties [lane conditioning]. We were responsible for making mediocre bowlers able to score like they knew how to bowl. I promise to not go off on a rant about the differences between bowlers and golfers beyond --- golfers will pay extra to play on a tough course ... bowlers don't like being humiliated by 60feet of wood and some oil. a typical "pit". that is its name sorry rambling DizRotus, glad you pulled back. My sis and bro-in-law got bit in the dot-com thing...

Rxonmymind
Anyone see the Falcon heavy rocket blast off with via YouTube or live? Pretty damn impressive they were able to land both boosters in sync. A Tesla roadster was on the payload. https://youtu.be/uvuYSf_UiPk 4
WillyBob
Hi dtel yeah, it is pretty noisy, and you have to be able to hear an intercom at the same time. a relatively quiet shop is back there, somewhere. In HI, the shop shared a wall with the bar .... I hate karaoke. The drunker I get, the better I sound [to myself], Incentive to spend time "out in the machines". Surprising, my hearing is more acute than my wife's. I can hear the machines getting in trouble before they cause a stoppage.

WillyBob
as most of you have several audio systems ... do you have one that is favored? I can relate to having more than one favorite. With my R/C stuff, my favorite depended on my mood and what I want to do.

Private enterprise and a man just sent his roadster on a trip to Mars?!... This is such a tangible demonstration of possibilities and dreams coming true! Completely impractical, but a brilliantly executed test. What are the possibilities from here?! My inner eight year old is lit up right now! 3

I took 17 years off from bowling and when I cam back in the 2000 era I was very surprised at the "improvements" in equipment and lane conditions. I can say that the 300 ring I have was earned when the conditions were controlled and measured after an award game was thrown. Even with the easier conditions, bowling as a sport is dying. Golf is not innocent either in it's tweaking with balls and clubs to improve scores.

I went last night and am the worst bowler on our team as I'm consistently inconsistent. I've only been bowling for a bout 3 years though, everyone else has been bowling most of their lives. One of the guys on my team owns the alleys and was on the pro tour for years. He's unbelievably smooth and consistent. His ball does the same thing every time and it looks like he's not trying. Makes me sick, lol.

Haven't bowled in years, but my best game is always the first one, and it's not good either. Part of the reason for this is Bowling allies usually sell pitchers of beer, between the beer and trying to improve it's downhill after the first game. But it is fun.
