Dave1291 Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Ahhhhh, another worthless day in Duckburg. 71 @ noon and here I sit on this stupid machine again. Adjust fire and fire for support . Stay low and never take a prisoner comes to mind. Think Imma gonna stir the pot in the hood today. Fire up the garage system and plant the last of 6, yes 6 flowers I bought this spring. 6 for $50 sound about right today? They're some hybrid that are totally outta the box color wise. Think psychedellic! I already put a lil bounce in the walkers step w/the rig cranked for the walkers so may as well give 'em a lil light show to go with it. "Are you experienced" comes to mind. Some new outta the box greenhouse down the road 40 miles south called Groovy Plants Ranch is killin it w/people. Kids makin big bucks doin what we've always done. Rock! 😂 Gonna grab the mugga, slip into the Crocks and stumble out. Play nice! 💪💪😂 1 4 Quote

Marvel Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I'm up about 5:30 and prep some things for our breakfast and lunch. We both still work and take our lunches. I'll be 75 in a week and a half, but it's IT work and not usually too hard. The pay isn't too great, being a non-profit, so I'll probably work until I can't. 4 Quote
JohnJ Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I told the 6am alarm to stop, but got up for the 9am one. Warm & muggy out today so stayed closed up and did not get coffee made until 10. It's almost 2 now and going back for the second 14oz cup... it'll be steaming from the glass thermos so no problem with flavor! Another week, another year soon for me, hasta la vista year 60 you were a wild & crazy ride! 3 1 Quote
Dave1291 Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Blah, been rollin out too early lately. Down @ 2 and up at 11 today. Here I go again. Hopefully not. Sunny and pushin 84 they say so we'll see. Grandkids are wanting "summer" jobs? Riiiiiight. Prolly farther ahead to just give them each 20 than supervise the mess? Changed last nites phone convo about it with "Hey how bout we go down and get some ice cream?" They jumped and I thought I'd won round one. Got to their house to pick them up and out walks my grandson carrying a 1 gallon empty gas can. Told me he's printing flyers for his hood. Seriously? The kids 11! Guess that's what happens when you spend the first week of the summer w/the daughter's sperm donor. Yup, the world will spin and the grass will grow in the summer around here but 11? Ummmm, NO! Here's 20$ kid cause ya can't replace fingers and toes you've lost doing dumb things. Crazy. 4 Quote
JohnJ Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Got my go-juice going earlier and almost right on time today. I'll reel in and gain control over that Rx soon! About time to get some more beans. I'd say I hope I can remain in my budget for a couple lbs, but we all know that's impossible now-a-days. (back up, wipe it out, FULL STOP) 3 Quote
Dave1291 Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 There's a budget? Please tell me more. Rain coming in this afternoon but doesn't look too bad then off we go into summer. Looks like about 5-6 days of low to mid 80's and tons of sun. Blah. Mah Speedos, mirrors and some power tannin! 😂 Grand showed up for a few hours yesterday to basically kill time. Got out lucky it only cost me $20 for "cleaning" and planting flowers in the front planter. Just 8 plants for across the back of the 24' planter. Should have gotten 16 but at 8 for 9$ that was enough considering the 50 i dropped in 6 others. Gonna get wild! Kinda maybe. Spacing the 8 across the back was a pita until Grandpa pulled out the 50' tape. She already had them all spaced out and ready to go until... Then came the math AND the mumbles to go along with it. 😂 End result? Perfection once again. Much to her dismay. lol I'm still scratching my head over the 6 Swiffer pads she said she used on the kitchen floor. That's not computing cause it still looks the same. Imagine that! Next up? The grandson. MIGHT get this power conditioner, that's been sitting here for a year, up and running. You think I'm crawling around pulling and re-plugging 853 plugs? Blah. Already paid him about $50 in advance and it's yet to happen so maybe. Jusssst maybe. Throw him a 20? Perfect! 10$ a plug. 😂 See, perfect timing the coffee's done and I'm a hapy boy. You, on the otherhand, are bored stiff being kind and curteous reading along shaking your head. If ya ain't been there yet ya will be. Just a matter of time. Duckburg? Blah. Four days of Little League on the dance card thru Sunday. Quit it! 2 2 Quote

That's why I folded the laundry did half the S's and found I was still logged in 4 Quote
Tarheel Posted June 6, 2024 Author Posted June 6, 2024 Meandering into the world of room treatments slowly. Installed 16 sq. ft of Owens Corning 703 rigid insulation behind a tapestry and two diffuser/absorption panels on the opposite wall. Next step will be panels behind the speakers and a bass trap or two. Still working on cup #1. 3 1 Quote

Abomb Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 The sound panels reminded me. I totally forgot to mention that the stucco walls in my living room turned out so be perfect for sound absorption. Who would have thunk it? So if you are looking for cheap panels, just go buy some mud and a trowel, and start slinging it. 😉 1 1 1 Quote
babadono Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 stucco absorbs sound?....gonna have to see data and measurements on that. 1 1 1 Quote
