Abomb
If you guys are interested my Wife's cousin is a pretty famous farrier, metal worker and author. Well in Farrier circles. His name is Jim Keith. He lives in Tucumcari New Mexico. This is one of his books.
Abomb
My Wife's side of the family are true cowboys. She learned to ride a horse before she learned to walk. Her Uncle is retired but still has about 500 head of Black Angus steer just as a hobby. Lol.
Tarheel
Tucumcari...brings back an old memory. Headed to California from North Carolina in my 68' Mustang I stopped for gas at this humongous station. Saw a Praying Mantis trying to make his way across the pavement and knowing he would be squashed I picked him up and put him in my toboggan. Gave him a ride down the road a bit and put him out. That was 1972.....wonder how that young fella is doing?
Marvel
Some of my wife's family are visiting a nephew in Atlanta, so we drove down yesterday afternoon before the heavy traffic. Wife's nephew and his roommate have a condo between Midtown and Downtown. Wow... 1400 sqft. Crazy expensive... $330k. They both do IT support for Delta. Well, today we went to the Botanical Gardens. Beautiful, almost beyond belief. Not as exciting, but here's a pic with me in front of a Tulip Polar, the largest within the borders of Atlanta.
Invidiosulus
I went kayaking with a buddy of mine yesterday. It was a beautiful time out on the river. This afternoon we have a combined church picnic between our two parishes. I smoked about 30lbs of pork over night. i guess we’ll find out later if there will be any leftovers.

Marvel
There were oaks in the park that looked to be straight up for a good 100 ft. The kind they used in the past for ship masts. Stunning! Of course I didn't take pictures... duh. Took pictures of orchids... Did you know that vanilla beans come from certain varieties of orchids? Who knew?

I was sure they were real and looked for evidence for quite some time. They were only 4 inches tall. That was probably in the early to mid '50s, as I learned to read pretty early https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Borrowers

JohnJ
Went to bed late but got up at a decent hour `cause I crashed yesterday afternoon for three hours. I've had a stretch of over a week where I've got coffee in me each day. It's been totally abnormal for me this year and I went 3 or 4 days at a time without for the first time since probably the late 80s. Got a couple mugs left in the thermos, but I've got to get to it already! Looks like the Cup Curse has it's best chance of ending for the first time in 31 years tonight. That 0-3 stat also! (One other team, back in the early 40s) Could be one heck of a game 7, even enough that non-fans might want to check it out!! Me? Well you see my moniker and know I don't like the panthers or their "Wait for the puck to come to you" coach Mo. Only time my team won it was against the Oilers, but I'm pulling for them because they have some talented young-ins that work hard and get it done. Plus I wish we still had Foegele, he did pretty good with my team, and better than that at crunch-time!! 1
Dave1291
The heat FINALLY broke around here today. 80@6PM. Worked for me. I took the day off! Tough decision! 😂😂 The "newer" neighbor behind me slipped over last night to inform me they were moving to Lexington, KY on the 16th. I'd noticed his truck was gone all last week. He transferred with his company up here and spent a week down there lining things up. Funny, he sent me a text and asked If I was around cause he had something for me. I was clueless. Thought maybe of box of free lp's. Nope. Wasn't carrying anything in a box just something wadded up in his hand. lol Tossed it at me as I met him on the patio and laffed. Said it was a going away present for me. Then hit me with it all. Told me he saw it in Lexington and picked it up for a going away present. 2XL always fits! 😂 So he comes in for a beer and tells me the story. Then proceeds to tell me how much they enjoyed my "serenades." Told me his wife has spent more time working out in their backyard than ever before. 😂 Seriously? How would I know? The first thing he did was ask me if it would bother me if he put a fence up. I said have at it. Then a couple weeks later I met his wife and knew WHY he put the fence up. 5'5" and a perfect 10 in every way. Gorgeous! A hubba, hubba for sure! Gonna miss her. lol Asked him if she needed any help packin while he was down there looking at houses. lolol He said nope the moving company was packing everything. Told him I'd keep thinking about it and get back to her. 😂 We weren't laffin too hard. Guess I get to break in some new neighbors. Could be dicey but I'm not changin a thing up. A realtor shows the house I'll be cranked up for sure. Either IN the hood or OUT! Hockey tonight @JohnJ ??? Maybe. Could get crazy. I'm in.
JohnJ
Yep Game 7 in the Final Series! If FL loses it will be the first time since 1942 I think since a team down three games has won the Stanley Cup!! But the Oilers have been taking it to them since! That particular group of youngsters has no q u i t in them!

Tarheel
Yesterday afternoon I watched a couple of Tom Selleck/Jesse Stone series on Amazon. Each time Jesse poured a Scotch on the rocks I did too. A little fuzzy this morning.
