You'll pull it off w/no problemo. She'll have her new lappie and some down time to get caught up both with work and share experiences with the deliveryman. It's refreshing watching a community truly gel after something like this happens. You all actually become ONE and continue to march. That common thread, whatever it may be. Sure is crazy but you'll always have that "remember when" line you can toss into every convo. Ya play the cards ya have or ya fold 'em. It's life. As ya get older ya just count the spots on 'em. Anicent Chinese secret! 😂 Tighten that setlist and have ya sum fun. It's allll ya can do. Unite as true family now and come back stronger. It'll happen. Look what it's done to @billybob1 and those in Florida. Seasoned vetrans they are. 😂 😂 The guys were setting up the stage today and someone from FEMA rolled in and told them they heard we were planning a concert and free food. ”You can’t do that because this is a disaster area”. After some back and forth, the FEMA folks decided to let it go as long as we weren’t giving out food, we are right across from our friends (who were totally okay with us giving out free food) who run one of the only open restaurants in town at this point so food and drinks will still be available nearby. At this point the guy who owns the property where we are playing told the FEMA folks to F*** off and get off of his private property. Should be a good time Saturday night! 1
JohnJ
Dave that mutt has four legs and two arms? Or is it six legs!🤣 Good to hear that @Invidiosulus Y'all are doing a heck of a job that shouldn't even be yours to start out with!! 1
Dave1291
@Invidiosulus yea, that kinda rolls with some of the FEMA boys n girls at times. THEN when they step back and look at the big picture they tend to back off. Might suprise you if some show up for the partay. On a mission? Prolly not but they have to stay professional and w/in their scope. In all? What they gonna do? You're big kids and if they can't handle it? It's on them. You be werkin for the County Sheriff but he's werkin for FEMA. By the time it's sorted ya'll be thru the last set. Simple. Sendin ya 33 semi-loads of mostly hay and some straw. On the road today, Pick up trucks full w/farmers helpin farmers. 3-mile line of vehicles. Fresh outta the box at noon today. lol Just in time to make a Dr. appointment an hour away. Temps mid 70's thru Wednesday then I'm thunkin it's over. Stiff upper lip!
Invidiosulus
So far so good, live stream of the Toe Jam fest in Spruce Pine is available here. I think we go on around 7pm or so. You know how it goes, you have a schedule and then you have to troubleshoot some things with the PA in the first act.

Tarheel
They arrived this morning. Vacuumed out and wiped down. Codewritinfool made some cables for me and helped wrestle them in the house. They sound great! 7

Marvel
Those look great, Chuck! If I ever get the snails finished I will probably downsize and start unloading stuff. The khorns aren't really very big, when they're tucked into the corners. 1

Invidiosulus
Someone shared some cellphone clips with us from our first gig the other night. Yours truly on bass. in other news, I’m out of my normal whole bean Sumatra for my morning brews since our grocery store was lost in the flood. Ive got some generic dark roast whole beans but it’s not great. I’m taking a friend down to the VA hospital in Asheville on Friday morning so I might try to pick up some other beans at one of the grocery stores on the way.
Invidiosulus
Apparently I also ran out of filters for my Chemex. I thought I had another box in the cabinet but it’s also empty. Time for the Aeropress to make its return.

JohnJ
I've felt like that before, glad it's not today C's for Cornbread. And just for you Northern folks: it does not have sugar in it!! This batch has cheddar and green j a p s in it... nacho cornbread. In foil, in the oven while the coffee brewed it was nice on this chilly morning! @Dave1291 when it pulls away from the cast iron and moves freely when you shake the pan? It's ready. Nope, resist any mix, do it from scratch! 3

JohnJ
Thanks Chuck, It's almost gone, but at the creamery I get a qt/buttermilk for $4 then $3 back on the bottle. Can't make it with store brand half skim or otherwise perverted buttermilk. Same with the flour but that is with the use by date. Store choices here are slim to none on everything. With my proximity to Greensboro I can get Neeses Sausage sometimes Haven't made it much at all this year. My new batches of j a l a p e n o s are odd, the ripe case isn't really hot. The Libbeys Green ones have heat like what everybody got when Nachos hit the ball parks for the first time in Clt when I was about 14. Back then every brand bit back some.

Tell ya one thing. it'd be a cold day before I drove 100 miles (lolol) to that lil Amish dairy in the country for milk. Gotta keep an eye on those Yoder boys. 😂
JohnJ
It's about 7 mi Dave, I'm the one that's way out. It's 5 mi to the crossroads (nearest civilization & gas) but another direction. Can be not as picky about whole milk so usually only stop there when heading back from town 40 mi out!
