After living with them for short time .

What is your thought process on your new to purchase ?

It was unsettling to have shipped all the way from California but with extra care in packing they made it without a scratch.  They are from 1988 but look almost new.  As for the sound....I love it.  Probably my forever speakers.........

Thanks for asking.  And yes the Swankster likes them.  Sometimes when I have music on he comes into the room and settles in his bed.

It sounds like a cheap cell phone speaker.

I recorded my LS before, using two different microphone pairs and three different stereo mic'ing techniques. I messed with it until the playback sounded the same to me as the original CD.

It was a lot of work.

Hello my good old forum friends,

I know that I have been making myself scarce for a few months now and am rarely online. Life is not a concert of wishes and I am probably going through the most difficult phase of my life. Divorce, health and other things are currently shaping my life.

I'm sure I'll get everything under control again, I'm very confident about that, but things just take time.

I don't want to miss the opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2025.Take care of yourselves, stay healthy and live life, we only have one .  I will certainly be back in the forum more often soon.

With this in mind

George

@MicroMara    George!  WB ya old dawg!  Yup, ya got a plate full but you've been in my head.  Ya always miss the guy's in here.  One big hapoy family.  😂  You're good, but sure is nice to hear from ya.  Plate's been full here w/allll kinds of stuff going on.  Caught up kinda maybe.  You'll get it sorted in time.  Just take care of yourself and the kids, which I know you are.  Look to the future this holiday season and enjoy the downtime with the kids and friends.  The world is gonna keep spinning but we're all gonna make it somehow.  God bless ya brother and thanks for stopping in.  You're missed more than ya know.  Stay safe!  :)

I also picked up some 1/2” Baltic birch to make a pair of Smith Horns just for the fun of it but I need to get my shop cleared out a little before I can get started.

You want me to ship you what I have?

Sunday morning here... 6:30 a.m., I'm still thinking about getting up.

Went to a party last night, hosted by a class of my wife's former students, class of '93. Grown with families of their own. They absolutely adore my wife. It was a lot of fun. I had met a few of them the last time we were there, but they had visited us at our little family house. More filipino food!

Out shopping some this afternoon. Went to SM Fairview. It's the 6th largest in the Philippines with over 700+ stores. Besides a huge food court there are restaraunts throughout the huge building. This one, as well as others, is always busy. I wish I could say the same for the ones we have in Chattanooga.

We have a single smallish tankless water heater in our little house in the Philippines, used only for the upstairs bathroom. Lost power to it and what seemed a couple neaby but random outlets. I thought it was the breaker, but resetting it didn't help.

Wife contacted an electrician... (I'm always a dubious of qualifications over here, after a handyman plumber totally botched fixing s toilet - which I could have fixed myself; but she insisted) But I digress... two electricians showed up. Combined ages looked to be 30, but filipinos often don't look their age.

They checked things out and said the breaker was bad. That's ok, as they are on a 220v 60hz system I really didn't want to mess with it myself.  They went and bought padts, replaced the breaker and all is good. Parts were not costly and we paid the two guys 500 pesos. If you aren't up on the exchange rate' that's about $8,50 total labor , of almost an hour. That's $4.25 each.

Good morning 🙂

5.40 am here , got my second cup of tea , I don´t drink any coffee since a couple of month. My tea collection contains black, white ,green and red teas .  However, I´m sitting in my kitchen and beeing busy to complete some neccessary documents for my future pension entitlements. So funny the German bureaucracy drives you mad 🤣.

Our country is being destroyed by German bureaucracy, suffocating itself and paralyzing the whole country. It is unbearable.

The weather here is cold, 35 F , wet and cloudy. Haven´t seen the sun since approx. 10 days .

I wanna continue with the paperworks now.....

Have a nice day everybody !
