Speaker search....

Recommended Posts

New to this Forum, thanks in advance for replies....So I bought a 2W Decware flea amp from a buddy knowing I had a pair of Full Range single driver speakers sitting unused in the basement to give a listen too for a 2nd system.....

Fast forward, I'm testing the old speakers out and the magnet is barely hanging onto the basket on one of them, and I can't get it afixed.

Ergo I'm looking for a nice pair of Used Klipsch's bookshelf speakers; not looking to break the bank but need something efficient.

Recommendations please......

Thanks for your help, Lwood

Welcome to the forum!

Depending on your budget, there are lots of things you can consider. With a 2 watt amp, that first watt is certainly all important. Usually you need to go big to get the kind of efficiency you need for that little power. LaScala comes to mind. That is definitely NOT a bookshelf speaker, however. Personally, I think the Heresy is unrivaled for it's size in performance and value. If you can locate a set for $350 or less, that would be my first choice.

Meanwhile, if you want to, go to the garage sale section of forum and enter something like> WTB.. Klipsch Bookshelf Speakers, or other size.

and then your narrative. You will maybe get some results.

Welcome to another newbie. I second the comment on Heresy. I've had a couple of pairs and they do a terrific job. Best of luck.

An older set of Heresy will be about 11Ω minimum, many tube amps can drive them on the 16Ω taps.

Thanks for the replies....any thoughts on the B-2 Speaker? Fits the budget and the room size.

Thanks, Lwood
