eth2
I have an opportunity to buy an RT-10D for about $500. I want a sub to go with my Cornscala C's. The room is about 10x30 with thick carpeting and acoustic ceilings. Any thoughts or advice?
CECAA850
Some of those particular lines have issues with the display on top. There's also no transferrable warranty. Just a thought.
willland
True some of the digital displays have failed on the RW, RSW, and RT models, I have had no issues with mine in the 5+ years I have owned the RW-10d and RSW-10d. With that said, the RT-10d is a wonderful sounding subwoofer especially for music. I just bought a pair of them and I love them. $500.00 is a fair price IMO. Scrappydue
Good sub but to near not near enough to keep up with your speakers and in a room that size. Plus has to be in a corner to be optimal sounding. That is why I had one for a while. Scored it from a guy for little less than what you are looking at but he has cornscalas and found the rsw-10d to be better match cause it didn't have to be in the corner.

If corner loaded, the RT-10d will hold it's own for a subwoofer of it's size. But,the Cornscalas can put out some serious dB's and as Scrappy mentioned, your room is pretty large and most likely needs a bit more subwoofage. Though, it may be worth a try if you can corner load it. Bill
alexg5775
I had a rt-10d for many years. It is a great subwoofer if corner placed, you really care for and like the top digital display and ease of use, need an overall small sized subwoofer. All this you will pay for, which is obvious in the 500$ price tag. In the end it is a 10" woofer, and although it has 2 more PR's, its output, which is highly subjective, is moderate. If you are looking for a sub that fits the top criteria then this sub is for you. If you have more space to give for sub and are not in a huge hurry then i think you should look into something bigger, with more output, which can be had for more or less same price tag. Those Cornscala's with the b&k amp have A LOT of output and you want a sub with a lot of clean bass output than can keep up. If you have the space a horn sub will be awesome I am a horn addict though. A DIY would be great and best bang for buck. Keep looking around and researching. This is all IMO. Good luck and hope i helped, Alex

Its really not that big I know you don't have the baby in there Groov'in with you, lol. That look like a baby high chair on the right? Yes thats a high chair to the right. She is 2.5 years old. I can actually raise the volume to moderate listening levels and she doesnt complain. She actually likes it. That picture is about 6 months old i already got rid of the high chair, system is still as shown in pic. I went from a rt-10d to a servo 15 and didnt notice to much of a differance. When i went to the tht-lp it was a night and day differance. I know i have the horn loaded speakers so the horn loded sub blened in perfectly. The sealed subs just didnt sound right. Bass sounded distorted and could not keep up with la scala's i used to own or the k horns. The tht-lp just clean clean offortless bass, ominidirectional, and the bass just sounds much "better." The cornscala's the woofer is ported so i am nor sure how a horn sub will blend or if a horn sub is needed.
derrickdj1
My grandchild does a little jiggle down in the entertaiment room to some of the music. She loves the gear lights and touch the subwoofer cones. Here is a groov'in baby gif, just click the photo. Everyone have a great TGIF!
