Thanks, I was very fortunate to get them locally. The CL ad had been up for 2 hours when I saw it. The funny thing to me was that the seller had them posted in the "furniture for sale" section instead of electronics or musical instruments.

Might have been gone in minutes if they weren't under furniture....right place at the right time I suppose. :)

Question for all the wood species gurus, do these look like walnut to you? I don't think they are oak based on the grain but I'm not versed on different woods.

They take on a different look inside the house vs. the first pics I took in the driveway.

Looks like Walnut with a natural finish.

Walnut. The pic I saw when you got them I thought oak. But that's walnut. Very nice looks great

Yes, Walnut; the front pictures leave a little doubt, but, not the top.

Looks like the census is walnut.....Thank you

Awesome billy :). Your going to like them even more when you do the caps. I've decided to get some mid horns from Dave to bring the corns to the next level. Have you seen his belle mid horn upgrade?

That will be a nice step up for you. I did look briefly and will look again. Taking baby steps while I decide what direction I'm going....

id like to find some junker corns to rebuild. I'm trying to leave the 85's as stock as possible.

Picked up some boiled linseed oil yesterday and gave the belle's a few applications. Forgot to take pics until I was almost done with the first app. but you can see how dry they were from the side picture of the one.. huge improvement :)
