Administrators Chad Posted April 9, 2014 Administrators Share Posted April 9, 2014 In case you haven't heard, there was a major security vulnerability discovered and reported on today that has affected thousands of websites, potentially exposing those sites' user's personal info. This particular vulnerability is nasty due to its untraceable nature - we can't know if users' info was stolen - so it should be assumed that sometime in the past two years, members of those sites were affected. To be clear: Klipsch.com, community.klipsch.com, checkout.klipsch.com, etc., are NOT affected by this vulnerability (due to the fact that we do not use OpenSSL on our web servers), however if you have an account at any of the sites listed here: https://github.com/musalbas/heartbleed-masstest/blob/master/top10000.txt and that site is now coming up negative (meaning they have now patched their site(s)) at the handy checker here: http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/, you SHOULD change your password and also look into if that site offers two-factor authentication for extra measure. Much more info here: (technical) http://heartbleed.com and here: (less-techie) http://gizmodo.com/heartbleed-why-the-internets-gaping-security-hole-is-1560812671 Update: found a good article on what to do/not to do to protect yourself from this vulnerability: http://www.cnet.com/news/how-to-protect-yourself-from-the-heartbleed-bug/ Notable sites affected: yahoo.com and all yahoo properties such as mail, flickr, tumblr, and more...
