Turbox
Hi all, im wondering if anyone can tell me what the natural cutoff frequencies are of the following. - La scala bass Bin - Belle bass bin because of the design, I know the frequency cut off of the la scala and belle are about 50Hz on the low end, how high can you push the frequency of the la scala bass bin and belle bass bin before you hit the natural cutoff frequency of the Bin itself? 500Hz, 600Hz? I might look at a DIY project for my centre channel.
Guest David H
Give this thread a gander. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/149442-lascala-sonic-detail-improvement-for-only-22098/ Looks like 500hz is a safe bet. Dave
moray james
if you mean how low a LaScala or a Belle are only really any good to about 80 - 90 Hz where they should be crossed over to a bass horn. Yes many play them as low as they can go but that is not what they were designed for unless you don't want bass. The Belle does have a small advantage as the mouth is a tad larger and the flair is a little better than the LaScala (there is a dead section in the LaScala the parallel sections on the sides which contributes zero) but they are all in all very similar. Best regards Moray James.
