That's a good point, and I think there should be a minimum of impact to collect recyclables as oldtimer mentions. Otherwise it is BS

My city uses bio-diesel to power its trucks. The bio-diesel is produced at the land fill which traps methane and uses it in the process. It doesn't have to be BS.

I like the idea of biodeisel as long as it is made from waste oils or as your municipality cleverly captures it from the fill. The trouble is with supply and demand. As more and more people are using the biodeisel made from fryers there becomes a shortage. That demand is driving the production of biodeisel from food oil. There is a good bit of information on this topic, and I am truly a big fan of biodeisel.
