SW-311 Sale

Hi guys,

I will just be honest, I am addicted to purchasing home theater subwoofers. I just happened to see that the Klipsch SW-311 is currently on sale for $499 with free shipping on Amazon... MSRP is $1,599!

I did try searching for "SW-311" but no results were found. Any experience with this little Klipsch sub? I don't expect it to compete with my FV15HP but it might be nice to pick a couple of these little guys while the Rythmik is in storage (moving in 6 months or so). What do you guys think?

They are on sale cause no one bought them. They are exactly like the sw-310 plus a built in room correction. And while that is cool, the sw-310 was a complete joke last time I heard one. K5, don't you have some rythmiks? This will be a huge disappointment IMO

I have a Rythmik FV15HP (currently in storage) and have owned many other ID subs like SVS Ultra. I really wouldn't expect the little Klipsch to hold a candle to those beasts, I just have a hard time passing on such a crazy deal. Might be a fun little sub to mess with until I move in 6 months or so.

I am also considering the reaction audio turbo subwoofer at $499. I don't know what it is, I just love opening and testing new subwoofers, more so than any other HT items.

Ah ha i see. Yeah there was one i dont know which model though identical at a local shop. It was also $500 about december of 2013...i agree completely...a disappointment.

That said. When all said and done. My 2 18's topple over everything i'v heard with ease. In a bit of a small room of course although let alone you and others scrappy with 4 18's. I mean theres nowhere to go. Ready for life til end of time lol i know just my 2 radians my whole sub system is valued very high although can be found so reasonbly in cost. Let alone near a hundred other great choices that are equal and cost so little. Diy is the only choice anymore point blank. nothing plug and play outta box even compares

Probably right, I just have no skills besides my bowstaff skills. I could probably screw together a subwoofer cabinet but that's about it. I'll take a look at parts express. Thanks for talking me down off the ledge guys!

If you have a local guitar center watch for used passive 18" subs to come in. Possibly even craigslist and ebay and a little patience will pay off ...

Even find a couple empty 18" cabinets then buy 2 subs and an amp and you will never once look back or even wonder again.

When i joined this forum i couldnt imagine what i was reading what peeps were doing with 1 or 2 15's...

then watching many go to single or dual 18's...I was hooked...I had used some in pa although at home was never a thought for me..

Now once i got them then built custom enclosures to result in greater bass noise(quality for my room) i cannot imagine anything else.

My reason for checking this thread out was i also still test and have a few powered subs in other rooms. My main theater or main surround system it just cannot be any other way... I hope you would consider. Its actually very doable even when it does not seem even remotely possible...it ads so much more than i ever imagined.

Best regards to you :)

If you get a kit, there is not much to glue. Uou glue or screw in the box and bracing and set the driver in. Next is the stuffing and speaker post holes. It is relatively easy to put a kit together. If you stay on this forum, you will venture into some of the self fixes and builds for you system.

Klipsch SW-311. Bought one as part of package deal when i got my RF-7IIs etc. Not impressed. Is it OK to say this on a Klipsch forum? The RW-12d from Newegg ($299 when they were available) blows it away and that is not saying much. It is small though I'll give them that, therefore has high WAF. It still comes in black only and therefore has no furniture appeal IMHO. I think I'm ready to join the big boys and get serious about some subwooferage.
