mustang guy
I wanted to go but there was no way I could. Instead, I will be watching and DVR-ing the race on HD. It starts at 3:30PM EST, and the weather will be ideal. That is certainly a good thing, because it was raining yesterday during qualifications. This race will be one for the record books. It is the closest thing to formula one where I live, and I am excited to attend next year. I hope life doesn't get in the way. Here is a link to the qualification results: Verizon Indycar Qualifying Results The Klipsch car #67 is being driven by the Hendersonville, Tennessee native Josef Newgarden of Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing This should be a fun race to watch on HD, and I will be rooting for number 67! Go Klipsch #67!

mustang guy
The Klipsch car was damaged early in the race and had to have a nose cone replacement. His times were slow after that, likely due to more extensive damage than just the cone. Had the damage not occured, and with the many yellow flags, he may have done much better. This race was a coin toss. The crews were learning, as there was no historic data to go by. Next year, the crews and drivers will be better prepared. One thing for sure is that the most exciting parts of this race take place in turn 1 at the start and at the restarts after yellow. Some of the most exciting racing I've seen. This race is here to stay! Very exciting. My favorite, Helio Castroneves finished in 3rd place following 2 cars who were running on fumes; him with a full tank of gas. It was his birthday. In a couple weeks, they will race again in the Indy 500. This coming weekend will be an exciting time, as they hold time trials and hot laps. IMO, better than the race itself and definitely less crowded. I will be rooting for #67 and #3 (Castroneves).

Ceptorman
I bet it sounded the best! The best sounding cars ever at Indy were the turbo cars of the 90s. They were much faster, about 20 mph faster than these. Actually the MotoGP bikes are faster, and louder. It was a fantastic race, and a pretty good crowd. I think this event was a hit.

Moderators Amy Posted May 12, 2014 Moderators Share Posted May 12, 2014 WHAT??????? How the? WHAT???? Ha, Chad! You missed it. This was taken Friday afternoon, not too long after qualifications. We were wandering around the garage area, when we were unexpectedly escorted back into Sarah's garage for pics of the car.

Looks like she's thinking , "will somebody please get that woman out of the car now" . She does! But nothing further from the truth. She is so great, so nice...her and Josef both. The car was actually disassembled when we went in... the mechanics scrambled to put it back together without us asking. Then they told me to get in... I was leery -- scared I'd get stuck in there. Unbelievably tiny space they have to work in. But so glad I did it. I love that place!
