Max2
The best thing to do for the OP is to try and get Klipsch to send out free tweeters for speakers years out of warranty that they will assume were purchased new and not damaged by the current or previous owner. If they don't comply, then post the model numbers here and I'm sure plenty of people here will do a free search for the OP locating replacements at a discounted price. The OP could Google his speaker model and include the word tweeter in his search. This will most likely list the exact tweeter in his speaker. Then the OP can jump on Ebay, locate the correct tweeter and see how much money he is out for this multi year fiasco. The next step is to take the new Receiver back OP, granted a long time period hasn't passed and collect your $1000 that was purchased by error. Thaddeus Smith
He claims to have already replaced the tweeters, and who knows what else, for a cost of $1000. He's just coming here to gripe..
Schu
He claims to have already replaced the tweeters, and who knows what else, for a cost of $1000. He's just coming here to gripe.. This... I see troll posts like OP's from many different type forums. They always seem to take on a brand bashing quality to them as opposed to a problem solving quality. Wait and see... you're going to begin seeing a whole rash of posts like this from low post count visitors in an attempt to undermine a brandz reputation and optimize search engine operations. I think it's part of a SEO strategy. OP, you have new speakers, contact the manufacturer... if they are several years old, you're SOL. Who knows what you've done to them in the many years of ownership. Find parts and fix them or find new speakers. Guest Steven1963
I see absolutely no cost to me to entertain a post about blown tweeters. But, if my spidey senses led me to think something is amiss about the post, I'd move on without comment. Especially a derogatory comment. It seems it would take more time and effort to respond in a negative manner and possibly having to explain those comments than it would to simply answer a few questions and move on. But, that's just me.

Heritage_Head
Sitting on a possible warranty issue for several years before contacting the company is dumb. Assuming the speaker company is to blame based on dubious troubleshooting methods is dumb. Griping about it after the fact on a forum without any sort of specificity is even more dumb. If my memory serves it was not long ago you asked "HOW TO LISTEN" I dont recall anyone calling you an idiot.................Its simple act as you would like to be treated It is Obvious to me the op is not experienced in audio, and therefore you must understand they wont know every angle involved with audio.............I can agree I would have certainly investigated my warranty B-4 waiting years however I dont personally know the op reason for waiting.................for all we know the op could have had any number of issues preventing his investigating speaker / receiver repairs And again calling someone an IDIOT without the details is quite Idiotic, It is also no help at all We need more of you on here. I feel this place survives, and thrives as long as its membership helps Klipsch advertise and support the product, The minute Klipsch starts to see this community in a negative way I see no reason they would continue to support it. Klipsch is a business and I am sure the forums factor in on there advertising expenses If we as a community turn negative more often than not I feel we are doing a dis service to new possible members, The Klipsch Name, and our own Reputations I visit many other forums as well as this one, all other forums I visit I have under 200 posts, and there is a reason for that, When I joined the Different forums ONLY THIS ONE felt like a family where people actually tried to help each other, I was welcomed here with open minds and arms, I was a complete novice when it came to speaker design and implementation, I knew nothing about tubes, I frankly did not know they still existed I have been welcomed into forum members homes, and I have had members at my home, I have made some life long friends, that I can always be close to through the forum if I moved to Alaska I would fight to keep this forum alive, therefore when I see something I construe as egregious (name calling, insult with no warrant, etc...) I try and enlighten the members, It may not be my place to step up but as this place feels like a sort of home, I would not allow the actions in my Home and so feel the need to speak
Thaddeus Smith
The OP started out negative and bitchy. This whole underlying issue is being exponentially overdramatized. There's a difference between enlightening members and brow beating shit into the ground.

Relax Thad, you may notice I did not comment after our short cordial back and forth, My last post was about MY feelings about KLIPSCH FORUMS as a whole not an individual event I frankly find most of your humorous (snarky) remarks just that "Humorous" Its all good !!!!!!!!!!!! joessportster
I'll have what Cliff's having. I have to pass, I am subject to screening at the new and improved health care where I am considered a drug abuser by the only doctors now allowed to prescribe pain meds Used to be if I had pain my family Dr or Surgeon could address my problems, Now I am forced to see a third supposed specialist in pain management where I must sign a contract stating I promise not to abuse, sell, etc...etc...etc...and, I am subject to random drug screens. (I feel like I am back in the army) They just want to make sure you're taking them and not abusing any other drug that might not mix with it well and kill you. They also want to make sure you're eating them and not selling them and making a part-time business out of it. You can thank all the disability fakers, RX junkies and just your regular old scheming/loser for all of the regulations. Pain management doctors are highly regulated.
