HornBlower
Although I had spent some time listening in store, and much more time reading here and elsewhere, I still invested in the RF/C 7's with more than just a bit of trepidation. After 30 days, I am very please with how much better than the older horn designs these speakers sound. I recently spent an entire night listening to, over and over again, the EAGLES reunion concert DVD. Holy S****. I've been to their concerts (years ago), and also been able to listen to tracks in the studio. This dvd really brings out the RF/C 7's. Any suggestions for other MUSIC DVDs? I tried the Moody Blues at Red Rock. Sigh. Some singers voices do NOT hold up over time. Thanks! ------------------ Amp: Integra 7.2 DVD: Toshiba SD4700 Fronts: RF-7 Centre: RC-7 Surrounds: old Advents! Soundthought
That's what i said when got my RF7s and RC7. "Damn this sounds right" That eagles DVD is excellent. You might want to try: 1. Music for Monserrat. 2. The Who at Royal Albert Hall. Actually, just about everthing i've heard recorded at Royal Albert Hall sounds great. 3.Frampton Live in Detriot. 4.Steely Dan (Two against nature) this one is exceptional. 5.Styx (Return to Paradise) 6.Sting (Brand New Day Tour) 7.Sammy Hagar (Cobo Wabo B-day Bash) Those are some of my favorites. Not just for sound quality but content. Enjoy you new speakers.
HornBlower
You said to try "4.Steely Dan (Two against nature) this one is exceptional". Didn't know there was a DVD. I've tried the Gaucho CD, with Hey Nineteen and Babylon Sisters. Wicked. Thanks for the responses- only 1 though, to the 41 viewers. Sigh... ------------------ Amp: Integra 7.2 DVD: Toshiba SD4700 Fronts: RF-7 Centre: RC-7 Surrounds: old Advents! Mike Lindsey
If you do not have DVD-Audio (just DD5.1 and DTS), I would suggest the following: Blue Man Group - Audio (This is a DVD-A disc but it also has a DTS version) Roger Waters - In the Flesh (Outstanding) The Band - The Last Waltz Fleetwood Mac - The Dance James Taylor - Live at the Beacon Theater Santana - Supernatural Although I don't have it, I hear the AC/DC Live DVD (not sure of the title) is very good. I'm sure others can chime in here with some more titles... Mike ------------------ My Music Systems

HornBlower
Mike Lindsey: Thanks! I've seen the Last Waltz at Price Club/Costco recently and wondered about the audio quality, given the era. avman: yes, the dvd reunion is HFO. Sorry, but sometimes I am bad with titles of audio stuff. BTW, got the Who at Albert Hall. Damn those British make it sound so easy. Why the hang are 99% of the North American Live Concert recordings no better than watching it on CBS. The Who's voices aren't holding up all that well with age, but not bad still. Way better than the Moody Blues. Try Phil Collins Footloose in Paris (or similar title). Pretty good, and he is weathering quite well. Thanks again to everyone. Will obtain the Last Waltz shortly, and maybe MAC's The Dance. Still searching for the Steely Dan (Two against nature). I refuse to pay full rip online... ------------------ Amp: Integra 7.2 DVD: Toshiba SD4700 Fronts: RF-7 Centre: RC-7 Surrounds: old Advents!
