jimjimbo
Yep, found these the other day buried under an electric lawn edger and a bunch of kids clothing.... First photos are before sanding, the rest are post sanding today, will put first coats of finish on tomorrow, if it doesn't rain.
muel
Nice find! Those look like early HII's to me with the round crossover hole. Don't let that deter you from getting the HIII upgrade kits! The hole is just small enough that you cut it out to fit the rectangular crossover just fine. Just need a little wood filler on the recessed sides of the hole. You can have HIII's for less than 700 bucks! Congratulations!
jimjimbo
Nope, going to keep them as HII's, freshen up the crossovers, add a little internal damping material, strengthen the box and call it good. And I have some extra risers I can add. Came with grills with no badges, so I'll have to find a couple of those....hint?

jimjimbo
Remember us? This is after a treatment with Howard's Restor a Finish, and then Howard's Feed and Wax. I would say they look pretty freakin nice. I think this stuff is pretty good.... It is really interesting what you see from different angles...I mean, it almost doesn't look like the same box......

jimjimbo
Thank you so much....I'd like to say it took a gazillion hours of sanding with 54,0000 grit paper with a modified grape press, but no, only a billion hours.....hmmmmm....I think I'll open my garage door tomorrow....a little ventilation....yea.....
