Administrators Chad Posted September 2, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 2, 2014 Post counts are now reflective of posts in the current database, whereas before it also included old forum databases, with topics/PMs that may no longer exist for one reason or another. This is why most members have a smaller post count, and long-time members will now see their post count significantly smaller. I know how important post count is to some people - I promise it's not the end of the world.
psg
Test to see if my post count increases from 12,050 Ouch, you dropped to well under 10000 with the new count!
ChuckAb3
There is so much to be alarmed about these days. Now post counts! What are we coming to!!??
Moderators Youthman Posted September 2, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2014 Yeah, no worries on my part. Whether I had 12,000 or 9,000, I think it's obvious I'm active in the forum. No ego boost needed. Lol
Moderators Youthman Posted September 2, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2014 Besides, I don't mind receiving another pair of RB-61ii when I reach 10,000 posts again.
derrickdj1
Maybe there was a hiccup with the post count duing the data transfer to this new forum? I wasn’t sure what Derrick may have specifically been looking at; however, I have noticed most of the other ‘glitches’ that people have posted about (i.e. loss of white space break between paragraphs again), but could not figure out this one. Here is a quick and simple test. I took a snap shot of an old post made by Derrick from 2011 and a snap shot of the first post by Derrick on this thread. Both posts have post counts that are equal; therefore, it would seem reasonable to conclude that Derrick’s old posts are updating to his current post count. For the test, when Derrick logs on today and makes a new post, we can compare Derrick’s actual post count on this page and to the 2011 post in the link to the respective pictures to see if the count changes or stays the same as in the pictures. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/130671-the-right-speakers-for-the-system/ Compare today's post count 4,425 with the Aug 29, 2014, which is 4,658. I am going backwards. I think I loose 10 post counts for everyone that I make. Will I get some free speakers when I reach 0, lol. Thank Chad for the explanation and looking into this. derrickdj1
I see someone else started a thread about the decreasing post counts. See, I was not drinking or doing drugs, lol
BigStewMan
stagnant? of course, so many posts really stink.
BigStewMan
oo I just listened to another song... better make a post about it.... Maybe I’ll start a Close to the Edge thread … where the album is looped to play continuously and louder each time. Although we could probably talk at length about what Jon meant when he wrote some of those lyrics. BLSamuel
Post counts are now reflective of posts in the current database, whereas before it also included old forum databases, with topics/PMs that may no longer exist for one reason or another. This is why most members have a smaller post count, and long-time members will now see their post count significantly smaller. I know how important post count is to some people - I promise it's not the end of the world. So I'm not losing my mind (that's debatable...) My post count has shrunk substantially but may be expected. I guess that means a lot of my posts were in things that mysteriously disappeared.... maybe weren't important enough to get into the new database. I may have lost out on the recount. But does it really matter. Not like I'm trying to catch up with Michael.
