Turbox
Typically in a two way configurations on K402's we've been using a K69A. recently looking at the pro stuff on line I see that the 402's are coming stock with a K1132. what are the differences or benefits to either? Does anyone know?
PrestonTom
The difference is bandwidth. The 1132 is for mid range only

Thanks for clearing up my imperfect memory (I was thinking of the 1133). Turbox
Exactly, I have 4 spare 1133 drivers for the K402MF. I have several K69A's as well. but the K1132 is definitely mounted on the 402 as an HF. Check here http://www.klipsch.com/KPT-942-M Does anyone know the difference between the K69A and 1132? Are they interchangeable in may of the two way designs we all have?

I'd like to store those please if possible? These might also help us identify the differences etc. Edited September 13, 2014 by Turbox

Coytee
They are interchangeable in that they'll both fit however, don't forget about Ralph in London. He mistakenly received the 1132/1133 (forget which one) on his Jubilee's and complained to Roy about having 'Lack of tinkle'. Roy sent Ralph the K69 and Ralph's tinkle was quickly restored.
Turbox
I understand that the 1133 is the Mf and the 1132 is the HF. K69A, we all know.
Turbox
Maybe I will send Roy a note and ask.

I would e-mail Roy and see if he can help you with the info you are looking for. I can tell you that the K-1132 has a phase plug designed by Roy which allows it to be used in the 2-way systems. The K-69-A cost to performance ratio was one of the main factors Roy stated of why he offered us that option for home use of the 2-way Jubilee. He developed the active programs and passive crossover designs for home use of the 2-way Jubilee using this driver for us. The B&C DE 75-8P was also an option with the K402 and K510 and it has a 3" diaphragm (versus a 2.75" of the K69-A). The phase plug and diaphragm are reported to be close to identical. The cost is higher for this driver and from my limited audition under controlled conditions the performance of both were close IMO but the B&C DE 75-8P was my preference versus the K-69-A in a 2-way configuration of the JUB/K402. The TAD TD4002 on a K402 was an option that several of us Jub/K402 2-way owners wanted to explore because many consider them among the best drivers available at the time regardless of cost. Roy developed both an active crossover program and passive crossover design for the Jub/K402/TAD TD4002 when used in a home environment . miketn Edited September 13, 2014 by mikebse2a3
Turbox
I had an opportunity to buy two of the 1132's for $80 each so I did. not sure if I will use them ever, however I have them now if needed. I will email Roy next week to inquire. All this came about when I was looking at the pro stuff and noticed that the two way gear had the 1132. so it got me wondering. diamonddelts
Did anyone ever answer the original question? I'm wondering if there is a substantial drop off in performance between these two?

If the 1133 was on there....there will be no "tinkle"....by design. I had some 1133s (older version) mounted on a big horn from an old MCM series. On axis, the driver dropped in FR ~5-6K. There have been no A/B comparison I've seen of the 1132 vs the K69. I would assume they aren't "interchangeable" as far as how to EQ them on a K402. I have heard Roy state that the 1132/1133 is their "flagship driver". You could argue that was for "cinema use". I didn't question. Putting a 1132 or an 1133 on a K402 will require YOU to EQ on your own for home use. Any settings published by Klipsch or given over the phone by customer support lines will be for cinema only behind the screen. This in no way is a complaint by me.....it is what it is. Roy has provided setting for home use for the TAD driver and K69. I can't remember about the B&C. I've had the 1133 on a K402 here for some time and I have to EQ on my own. It is disconnected right now however and I'm not sure my future use for them. Turbox, I hope this helps answer your question. jc
Bossman
Roy sent Ralph the K69 and Ralph's tinkle was quickly restored. So Roy sent Ralph a K69 and Ralph got his tinkle back huh? sounds a little kinky to me.
