Price Drop: Denon DCD-3520---SOLD

I am selling my wonderful 40+ pound Denon DCD-3520 CD player only to fund another purchase.  These are legendary players and to get the equivalent build quality in today's CD player market, you would have to spend upwards of $3000.00 to even come close.  Some of you have owned or do own these behemoth Denons and know what they are all about.  As a CD player, they are great.  As a rock solid transport with a quality outboard DAC, they are even better.

Belts were replaced recently and player works perfectly, never skipping or refusing to play any CD so far.  Cosmetic condition of my player would be an 8/10 on the Audiogon scale IMO.

Price of $575.00 $525.00 $500.00 $475.00 $450.00 $375.00 $350.00 includes willland's signature packing, Fed Ex Ground shipping, original remote, owner's manual, and Denon DCD players brochure.

Here are some links with info about the 3520.

There are two tiny visible nicks on the face of the tray that can be seen in the front photos.

The far right/bottom photo has what looks like a nick on the face of the drawer near the center but it is just a small carpet fiber that I missed when wiping off.

Thanks,

Bill

Doesn't that use the KSS-151 laser assembly? I have a DCD-1560 that uses the same one too.

Yes, both use the KSS-151A.  As a matter of fact so does the 1520, 2560, 3560, and many others.

Very surprised no inquiries yet.

Is it for sale? Do you have a price in mind? What is a potential buyer to do really? I never have understood what a "feeler" is supposed to do I guess. A bump non the less.

All good valid points.

The "feeler" thing is kind of like if anyone PM's a seller and inquires about the item(info, condition, etc.), requests more photos, and price options.

In my case specifically, I am currently using the Denon on an almost daily basis, and did not want to go the the trouble of removing this 40+ lbs beast of a player, take a bunch of photos, only to put it all back together if no real interest.

The Denon DCD-3520(and 3560) is one of those "special" pieces that potential buyers know what they are looking for and are just waiting for one to occasionally pop up for sale in good very good condition.

Still no takes?  That thing sounds sweet, I've heard Bill's setup, pretty impressive for CDs... I'd be all over it if I didn't prefer my speed metal on vinyl ;-)

Neil,

Thanks for the encouraging words.

You still got that Onkyo DV-SP1000?

How would this compare to a McIntosh MCD-7008?

Andy,

I am sorry but I have no idea how they compare audibly.  Now as far as build quality, the 3520(or 3560) did not take a back seat to any player built around that time.
