Chicago area forum members

Recommended Posts

Hey there

Just wanted to see how many forum members reside in the chicago land area? I've thought it could be fun to get a thing going once every month or two where forum members could get together for a listening session. It could be a cool opportunity to share different recordings, get a chance to hear different gear and just hang out with some fellow music lovers that share a common interest/addiction.

Anyone interested?

Bueller? Bueller?

There should be a few of us in the area.  I am in Northwest Indiana, around 30 min. from downtown Chicago.    I can recall at leat 4 or 5 members that I have seen connected to Chicagoland.

Lemon String;

Sounds like we are at opposite ends of the Fox River.  Come 10/1 most of my free time is spent in the woods hunting.  I would be interested in participating and or hosting some time after the 1st of the year.

Best regards,

John

Schaumburg here.

The Chicago Audio Society meets once a month on Sunday, but I hear there aren't many horns in that club:

The AES has a Chicago chapter which also meets about once a month on a Wednesday in Niles, but it tends to be a bit on the technical side usually:

I know of a few other guys in the area that are usually up for various audio gatherings, but they are a rare voice on the forum.

I am good to travel or host a gtg.  This is more for fun and fellowship?

Yeah, my thought was that it would be fun and an opportunity to audition different speakers, amps, turntables etc..... amongst a group that already share some similar interests and a mutual fondness for horns.

In the past I've found that just setting a date and posting the event details will result in the kind of turnout you're looking for. It helps to make sure it works with some of your closer friends so that you're not overwhelmed by all the crazy people that will show up... ;)

Just saw this . I am in Geneva about 35 West of Chicago

And you have some big klipsch gear that we could all pay admission to hear! party at your place?

im a good 4 hours from Chicago but can use points to get a hotel room for free.

im in for a meetup and 35miles west of Chicago might be about the line as far as I could go depending whats going on

I would also supply or help with food and a drink etc.. .

there are several audio people I keep in touch with in Illinois area around Chicago. some are tube users and a couple are planar guys but mostly klipschless

Beeker

I know you've been to ClaudeJ1's . That's a tough act to follow !

As far as a place worth the price of admission . I was lucky enough to visit Michael's " House Of Klipsch" recently. That is worth the price of admission !!!  I was a little nervous to meet the legend himself, but he couldn't of been nicer !

I would be more than happy to host a get together , Klipsch Forum Members are welcome anytime ! (Except the early A.M. on weekends)

So many of the "Chicago"  members are close enough together, I think we could travel a little during the day and experience many systems. I know there are several listed that I would would like to hear.

Any How  I will follow this thread to see what everyone wants to do :D
