jimjimbo
OK, I'll admit, I'm pretty sure I was the first to leave the party, and it may very well still be going on, but regardless, it was a terrific get together.... Many, many thanks to Seth and his lovely wife for hosting the event and being so gracious in sharing their home for all of us Klipsch aficionados....Lots of great food and drink, vinyl, Blu Ray's, DVD's, CD's, streaming....Old school rock, blues, acoustic, jazz, Beatles, Bee Gees, electronic dance, concert videos. Seth had his beautiful pair of Cornwalls, Jimjimbo brought his ClaudeJ1 Super Heresy "Baby Cornwalls", and Jason wrestled a great Table Tuba into the room. Seth's tube amp, JimJimbo's ampsandsound Stereo 15 tube amp, and Mark's older Marantz were all auditioned and sounded great. I'm sure lots of other comments to come from other folks. Again, thank you all for attending, it was great to meet everyone. Initial setup
beeker
We just got back to the hotel. My list of names to thank is to all. Most of all thank you to Lemon string! That was a great day. I believe there are still demos going on now. I cant wait to spend time on the klipsch forum describing some bucket list gear I got to hear throughout the day. I somehow actually missed some gear that I wanted to hear. Some very impressive swap outs and switch with amps, subs and speakers going fluidly throughout the day/evening...that was a demo day I dream about. That was awesome! Cheers!! P.s.if any locals havnt been to kiss the sky wow you gotta. Lp wise gonna be tough to beat. Cd wise was about as good as it gets. reel to reel is pretty darn good as well. All playback new and used was very good. what a day! great group of guys. and I gotta hand it to you lemon string...you fed and served drinks to us all like champs...and you still have at least 3 40" inch pizzas left lol im still stuffed haha Cheers! that day was awesome! could not ask for nothing more!

DizRotus
Jim- So this is how you spend your Saturday when the Wolverines have a bye? Thanks for the report and the photos. Any chance of linking some names to the faces in the photos?

Chris A
I really like seeing pictures and descriptions of these get-together events. [Can someone identify forum names with the faces in the above pictures?] For the participants in these social events, they allow the participants to get to know each other in way that is not available online. I've found that participants can be very different in real life than their online personas would indicate. It's all better than cyberspace-only conversation, IMHE. Thanks for the write-up. willland
Guys, looks like a fun time. I am jealous that us Florida "brothers" have not made it happen in quite a while. Marshall, if you are still out there, let's do it again. Now who is who in the photos? Now someone with photoshop skills insert names(forum names okay) in the pictures. jason str
Thank's to Seth and family for allowing us into his home first and foremost, the party was a success and it seemed like a great time was had by all. It was a pleasure to put faces with forum names and listening to all the different gear was a great experience. Hope we can do this again soon. By the way I'm the handsome guy 4th from the left in the blue shirt & grey hoodie.
Gnote
It was a great time and like Jason said it was nice to put faces with names. Seth, his family, and his neighbors were all great people. Seth's system was a real treat ! and he set the bar really high for future get together's Seth if your neighbor tell's you I harrased him about his speakers that's BS. Wait his speakers are B*S* .Wait no I'm sticking to my original story. To the Forum members if Opusk2k9 tells you I gave him a lot of grief about snagging all the good deals around here. OK that might be true Also if JimJimbo tells you he had to leave early and didn't say Goodbye to me because I made him uncomfortable by asking where his ampandsound was spending the night. That was the alcohol talking ! I've never given Tubes a second thought but I wouldn't have to think twice about what Amp I would get next, for a 2channel rig. JimJimbo's ampandsound was amazing !!! I was pretty stunned when it was playing with his super heresy's and Jason's Table Tuba which was as pleasing to listen too as it is to look at! Great time! Great gear! and even better people!

jimjimbo
I knew I would get questions about who was in the photos, so I'll do the best I can Look at the last photo with everyone standing and from left to right: (I apologize that I forgot the last gentleman on the right....) Rick (Seth's neighbor, and very nice guy!), Beeker, JimJimbo Jason STR, (Jason, Table Tuba builder master...), Brandon (Opus2k9), Gary (Gnote), Derrick (Derrickdj1), Mark (Bubo?), Seth (Lemonstring), and then? (again, sorry...) A few additional notes: Yes, this is how I would like to spend all my Saturdays when the Wolverines have a bye (and this season, I wish they had more byes.....) Gary, I apologize for not saying goodbye, I think you may have been outside somewhere when I took my leave, and yes, I was concerned you would follow me and try to abscond with my Stereo 15...LOL Brandon, thank you for your invite to your home to see your great collection and your two beautiful puppies.... Again, Seth, thank you so much, it was a real pleasure. Edited October 19, 2014 by jimjimbo

ClaudeJ1
I like the way the "Baby Cornwalls" are using the "daddy Cornwalls" in the first photo, as a makeshift wall/floor reinforcement for the rear bass port, which they need. Is they how you guys listenened to them? Otherwise the bass is weaker up on stands like the other shot. So did they live up to their hype, or was I barking up the wrong tree when I did the mods? Friends, Romans, Klipsch countrymen, lend me your ears and your feedback! LOL. Edited October 19, 2014 by ClaudeJ1

They were playing with Jims ampandsound and Jasons Table Tuba and I was thinking that's alot of quality sound from such a small attractive package. I actually had to walk up and make sure it wasn't the Cornwall's playing and those are some really sweet Cornwall's.

WOW lol every turn in your house was a holy cow! I mean I just wanted to check out some stacks lol Great afternoon. Thank you so much for your time and demo's. Wow what a weekend! When I get home tomorrow i'll have an audio hangover...actually I believe the weekend just made for some sweet dreams until the next gathering... Through all the gear iv heard this weekend possibly the biggest eye opener was that Yamaha Mark hooked up The aletheia cornwalls were really nice just so blissfull. The Claude baby cw's with the geemany Christmas tabletuba with the ampsandsound se15...once the baby cw's were put on stands there was such a clean sound any audiophile could fall in love with for a lifetime. What a combo. Both of Lemonstrings amps were very clean too. I missed the later kt88 demo which I wanted to hear pretty bad...maybe next time... Critical listening through the whole day seemed to go so simply... Im looking to get home and play some tracks to do some comparisons. Lemonstrings turntable was very smooth as well. Very nice! Its so interesting the twists and turns audio has with things like the table tuba and comparing quality tube amps then hearing an older solid state that shines so well. Some people may come to Chicago for museums or games or what have they...well the klipsch audio community in Chicago is extremely fine. Every conversation over the past 2 days has been awesome. It was so much fun to learn and listen to different gear. What an absolute blast in Chicago! cheers to Lemonstring for putting it together!
LarryC
[Can someone identify forum names with the faces in the above pictures?] Boxx, thanks very much for adding names to the big pic. Pics of these get-togethers are far more appreciated if names are linked to individuals' pics. I was even going to suggest putting names under individual pics, but the one post may have taken care of most of that. Perhaps names under other pics for linkups that are missing or unclear. Also, how about identifying equipment in those pics? THANKS! Larry
The Dude
These are a lot different then my get togethers, I am usually missing 2 things that I see here. Forum members, and all the gear to swap around. As it turns out, they are usually just me getting drunk and listening to music on a Saturday night. All BS aside, looks like you all had a nice time.
LarryC
And it was great to see all those LPs! Uh, did anyone bring CDs or DVDs?
derrickdj1
I finally heard some Heritage speakers. I was truly impressed with the Corwalls and Heresey. Seth's tub amp sounded great as well as Mark's Yamaha. Jim's Ampsound is beautiful and so smooth. We had some great food, drinks and conversation. Man, everyone was conversing right from the start before we got into Seth's house, lol.. We had vinyl, cd's, and digital music with some youtube videos to throw in. All the media sounded great. It sure was fun sampling others equipment. Duder, join RTM for you next gtg, some of us will be drinking and jamming with you!
