MJHanson
Is there a hard and fast way to set the adjustments on this sub? I'm just using it strictly for music with a pair of the R26 towers and I want to make sure its doing what its meant to do.
wvu80
A solid suggestion for a cross over (XO) frequency is 80 Hz. For music anything above 80 sounds muddy to me. Most people don't like their subs to play higher frequencies. If you are adjusting your sub "by ear" I've always liked this Parts Express video: Edited December 24, 2014 by wvu80
hydro_pyro
Are you using a receiver with a programmable crossover frequency? Usually the sub is set to the highest frequency setting, so the receiver can handle the low-pass for the sub, and the high-pass for the mains. This way, they're not doubling up on some bass frequencies and making the tone thick and muddy.
