eth2
What is your favorite EL34 and why? Let's not just focus on the NOS Mullard (at $250/ea)
russ69
The old Teslas. Not available new anymore (at least not from the old factory). I'd like to give the new Mullard re-issues a try.

justinsweber
EH6CA7s are incredible good sounding... more full and similar to 6L6 sounding than el34s
muel
EH6CA7s are incredible good sounding... more full and similar to 6L6 sounding than el34s Is that a "in kind" substitute or are there exceptions?

Tarheel
If you are asking about EL34s for the Quicksilver Mid Monos I believe they can use EL34. KT90, KT88, KT77 (what I'm currently using in my QS Horn Monos) 6550, and 6L6. Check with Mike at QS before trying. Quicksilveraudio.com only mentions the 34 and KT88 for your amp but I bet he will say any of the above are okay. I have tried the EL34 Teslas, the HK 6550, and JJKT77. Doug at Dougstubes.com said a lot of his customers prefer the KT77 to the EL34. If that is not why you are asking then please disregard all the above

The amp can run according to QS: EL-34, 6L6, KT88 or KT90. Edited January 13, 2015 by russ69
Rocko81
I have a nice Westinghouse quad made in Japan from the early 70's. They were NOS. I think they sound much better then my Winged C's. If I can ever find another quad of the Westinghouse I'd jump on them in a second.
