eth2 2177 Posted January 12, 2015 Has anyone bought the Bruce Springsteen box set, and if so, how is the quality? TY Mark Hard to tell how good the quality is since Springsteen's voice is on the recording.

oldtimer 12726 Posted January 22, 2015 Some people like Springsteen. From my personal life experience, it was east coast and mid west origin college girls. I never sunk so low as to take advantage of that, but I won't judge harshly anyone who did.
BigStewMan 15000 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) I do not own any Springsteen. Heard a funny interview on NPR with his drummer. Says Bruce likes to ad lib a lot during shows and many songs start with the drums. Occasionally, in mid-set, Bruce will nod or start a count, and he has no idea which song Bruce wants to do. They call them audibles and they occur several times during a show. Overall in the last 37 years, I have seen close to 100 shows. Nowhere near the total of some folks, but you have to give Springsteen credit, he brings it every damn night. big bones billy 6 Posted January 22, 2015 I did buy the reissued CD box set. The remix is terrific, especially on the River, Greetings from Asbury Park and the Wild, Innocent and E Street Shuffle.

joessportster 3786 Posted January 22, 2015 There are several notable artist that are much harder to like 1 example Tom Waits , sounds like he swallowed a frog, But I still love some of his music
Marvel 3890 Posted January 22, 2015 A friend of mine loaned me his lp of Nebraska after it came out. Still the only album of his I've liked. I think he' s a good lyricist. Bruce

But his songwriting skills are very impressive. He's a poet, check out some of his older lyrics, like Thunder Road, or anything from Born to Run. He sure puts a lot of effort into his live shows. Sancho Panza 4063 Posted January 23, 2015 Saw him once, in college; they played WAY OVER TIME & really gave a great & long show.
big bones billy 6 Posted January 23, 2015 Saw him once, in college; they played WAY OVER TIME & really gave a great & long show. If you saw him in 1978, supporting the Darkness on the Edge of Town album, you were very fortunate indeed. Those shows are legendary.
