Prayers appreciated for Wakejunkie

Just received a text from his wife, they have moved Shaun to a regular room.  He was able to get to the bathroom with a walker and ate a few M&M's.  We are grateful for even the baby steps.

I called his room and talked to him briefly as I know he needs to rest.  His nausea is still pretty bad....he said it's like he's on a Tilt-a-Whirl ride 24/7.

It's hard to describe how I feel knowing what he's been through and what he may go through in the days ahead.  I have hope and faith but at the same time, there is sadness in my heart because I can't do anything to make it better.  I prayed with him before getting off the phone.

Do they have a medical Cannabis program in Florida or at least allow CBD oil? I spoke to some cancer patients when I lived in CO and they said that it was the only thing that helped their nausea and worked wonders. They definitely wont allow it in the hospital but it may be something to look in to when he gets home and if the nausea persists.

Here is some info on it:

My thoughts and prayers are with him as he continues to recover.

Spoke to Shaun this morning and afternoon.  By the afternoon, they had changed his meds for the nausea to the same thing they prescribe for motion sickness.  He said he was feeling much better than he was earlier today.

That is good news about the nausea med helping. Nice slow recovery for a very active man like Shaun while necessary for the healing process, cannot be an easy propect, yet it is still very early on. Shaun has already showed his ability to rebound. His physical condition may well be the key to a nice paced recovery. And really, who is to say where he will be in 2 weeks, let alone a month or so. I am optomistic and will remain so. Thinking you all know this but had to remind.

Mother used to say never say never. May Shaun feel the love of family and friends.

Thanks for the update! :emotion-21:

Thx for asking Sancho.  Shaun went to the Dr. yesterday.  He is still having trouble walking without help due to dizziness and balance issues.  They are sending him to Vanderbuilt to see a specialist.  My plan is to make a trip to Alabama to see him in 3 weeks.

Continued prayers.  I know what he feels like with the dizziness, even though I didn't have what he has. I had a severe case of vertigo many years ago.  I couldn't stand up for 2 weeks.

I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes.

I am doing very well all considered. I can walk using a walker or if I hang onto someone for balance. This should improve over time. I have been refered to Vanderbuilt University to see a specialist. I am waiting on that right now. I will be out of work for at least 6 more weeks.

Thanks to all.
