Kind of a rhetorical question in the back of my head....but....

How successful would it be to make a Heresy, Khorn, Jubilee, Reference.....  or something else (MWM??) out of carbon fiber?

Would it be a workable solution?  Would it flex, crack or something other that would be considered negative?

carbon is reasonable in price... I bet it would resonate terribly though

You can do a lot of neat things with carbon fiber. I have been riding carbon fiber bike frames for 15 years or so, and my wife uses a carbon fiber violin bow in preference to much more expensive wooden ones. But I suspect that Schu is right and resonance would be an issue unless it was really thick.

Great thing about CF bike frames is they can be stiff for power, light weight, and not beat you up like a metal frame.

One thing that I was thinking of was that speaker bass seems to sound better when the speakers are heavier. If I were making a sub for a supercar, I would use neo drivers and a carbon fiber enclosure. For a house, I would want something heavy and solid.

I wonder if they make subs for supercars out of carbon fiber?

I suggested the carbon fiber thing to Trey Cannon many years ago right here on the Forum. His response was "Great minds think alike". So I guess it's been thought of before.

The thing to remember about carbon fiber is its weight to strength ratio. Some of my bass guitars have carbon fiber necks. At some point I discovered that the necks were not solid even though they felt that way. The carbon fiber used in the necks was actually quite thin. Even the headstock was hollow. If the neck were made of solid carbon fiber it would actually be much heavier than a wood neck. That;s when I got the idea of using carbon fiber for a Klipschorn since it could be molded and be much denser, rigid and heavier than plywood or MDF, and therefore have fewer vibration or resonance issues. But alas, that's not really how things work and its not required. It wouldn't result in any measurable or audible performance improvement, just increased cost and some more hype for the marketing department to exploit ever higher prices. In other words, why go through all that trouble and expense when you can make a special anniversary model out of the same stuff, put a $100 diamond on it and sell it for three times as much?

new studio monitors are made with low resonance materials - composites in the motorboard area but they still use mdf for the  cabinet -

you could glue a carbon fiber outer laminated in MDF for a low resonance speaker - the carbon fiber adding rigidity -  a combination of wood and carbon fiber is best here -
