Smitty
So, I have Klipshorn's purchased in 2000. I have a Marantz 2380 (I think) integrated amp from the 70's working fine. I have that feeding my Marantz 108 (I think) power amp. Its sounds great. I have a large room, 40X25 with pine floors and wonderful corners for the KHORNS. However, I have read tones on getting tube amps because they sound richer and warmer (as I am told) But a McIntosh 275 casts 7-8 thousand dollars. Lately I have been reading a lot about Decware Zen single ended triodes. They are supposed to sound great on an efficient speaker. The Khorns have a 105 db. But then I get to reading in forums all this other stuff and other opinions and technical stuff and I get lost and confused. I just want to get tube amp that I can afford and is rated to sound excellent on my KHorns. Can anyone give me some easy to under stand advice? Deang
You will get two dozen different opinions about this. I have done almost everything except 45. Unless you sit fairly close and don’t listen very loud - that is not enough power. 35-40 watts at least.
OO1
why not purchase a Yamaha A-S1200 ----it's an SS amp , but very high quality --reliable , and it sounds great with Khorns--we're talking 90wpc of clean power https://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio_visual/hifi_components/a-s1200/index.html

Fine for me with my LaScalas, but I would aim for 20-30 watts or a little more.
jimjimbo
The Decware integrated with 6wpc in stereo might fit your bill. Looks like a sweet unit at a nice price.
