Ceptorman
I'm going with Buddy Holly. He was only 22, but had a whole bunch of hits already. His music is everywhere, even today. Imagine what he could've accomplished.

Fish
country dick Montana of the beat farmers....heart attack on stage. This made me think of a great comedian, Tommy Cooper, died on stage while everybody horse laughed thinking it was part of the skit. What a way for a comedian to go. Fish
One of the most tragic to me was the loss of Rory Gallagher. Mostly appreciated by real blues lovers and musicians but his place in history is solid.

OO1
Hard to believe no one has mentioned Hendrix yet. his sound was very psychedelic - hendrix was very talented- maybe a bit too much for the average person - a different era as well - the true hippie -

I think that his death affected me more because I attended that last show. Got home at 2AM, went to bed, and woke to the news.
