Quiet_Hollow
Anyone else getting tired of Hollywood using the same sound clips in every frigg'n production? Helicopters do not sound like the super-slow "wup wup wup" ones from Transformers. Audience acclaim doesn't sound like that one canned "cheer" I've been hearing for the last two decades. Dragons do not sound like the T-rex from Jurassic park...I know, because I have have one. Computers....still do not make a noise every time I touch one, much less the same high-pitched bleep that's depicted in any scene where there is one. The Empire did not have a contract with Universal for blasters in every flick since then....etc. etc.
twk123
That is why I like movies like Apocalypse Now and Master and Commander because they took the time to sit down and create original audio and do it right. I heard that to get the rigging sound in the storm, the production crew loaded up a pickup with ropes etc, hooked up a bunch of mics and drove 80mph into the wind.
oldtimer
I have had lots of regurgitated sounds but alas, none have been recorded.

Moderators Travis In Austin Posted February 18, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 18, 2015 Apocalypse Now Ditto... Walter Murch, won Academy Award for that work, and he was part of the group that came up with 5.1.

Mallette
Gents, if you think you have it bad consider that I have been hearing the same stinking dog barking all over the place since about 1975. Dave

Tom Adams
What I'd like to know is why (how?) a folly artist decides to make a rubber tire "squeal" when someone peels out on dirt. WTH??? I've ridden dirt bikes all my life and driven a couple off-road cars and I never got my tires to squeal on dirt.

Mallette
Best sound effects in a movie in mho, was "Forbidden Planet". Never been equaled! Nor the plot, which remains one of the greatest cautionary tales of AI ever. Dave
JJkizak
You know I have wondered about the tires squealing in dirt for many years. It is a wonderment. JJK
