My dad bought a pair of EV Marquis when I was just a couple of years old, and they are still in the family. What I remember is they sounded great and would go intensely loud. Other people had nice home stereos, but these speaker would always eat their lunch with only a few watts. Since then, I've seen them bring between $100 to $600 per pair. Here is a little more information. A lot of the woofers are coaxial. I didn't know they were offered to have an 8" woofer, too.
