jimjimbo Posted March 3, 2015 Share Posted March 3, 2015 The black face is an aftermarket addition that is well done. There is a gentleman on AK that does these for certain Marantz models, not all. There are a lot of aftermarket, reproduction wood cases out there, some nice, some not so nice. Very difficult to tell from photos, so be careful. W27 Posted March 3, 2015 Share Posted March 3, 2015 I've always loved the 22XX series Marantz. That is a beautiful one. I wouldn't pay that for it though. You can easily get a good condition 2270 for under $500. The custom face is around $165. If the face you take off is in good condition, I'd imagine you could sell it for $100 give or take.
