KP 480s

Looking at a pair of these.  18" woofers and 15" passives. I cant find many topics related to them.

Does anybody have much experence with them?

How well would they pair up with La Scala fronts? I mostly listen to 2ch and only occasionally watch movies.

My room is rather smallish at 12 x 18.

They don't sound that great, ask Michael Colter.

I think you would be much happier with a single KPT-684 or a pair of the single 18" KP

T-484 version of this if you could find them. These are great for music, but don't really go low enough for movies.

What is cheap? I think they are cheap enough for me to go about 120 mi to look at them. A demo might not be possible though.

I will take a vom and make sure the drivers are not open.

Do you know if the KPT uses the same woofer as the kp-480?

This would most likely work in a vented sub.  Depending on room size, the bottom end may not do the ULF but, the should excel for 40 Hz and up.

This is what I was thinking. I cant watch movies in the evening. I will fall asleep no matter how loud it is. :(
