Dual 12" Woofers (KLF-30)

Would think that you would have a plus and minus from the x-over to the woofer plus/minus.

When the mid/tweets are reversed, they are defined as out of phase so...

Edit: Sorry, are both leads to woofers the same length?

Probably...hmmmnnn Sorry, still not any help!

Obviously....but without having opened up the cab yet I guess I'm asking if they're wired in series or in parallel......and if they're in parallel would it matter how they are hooked up to the crossover?

Here is a KLF 20 schematic with wire description which shows Klipsch used the same length wire and woofers are wired in parallel.

Note: Tweeter is wired in reverse polarity.

Here is the KLF 30 schematic as posted in the crossover thread of the technical forum section and I would expect woofers are in parallel as in the KLF 20

Thanks Mike. Soooo.....would that mean that Klipsch marked the terminals on the tweeter accordingly or should I hook up the polarity opposite of the +/- markings? I've tried the mids with reversed polarity (sounded awful) but never tried the tweets.

It seems that I just read a thread here recently about someone (maybe Fish?) bought some 30's and the tweets were hooked up backwards.

Well, I just went ahead and did it. Wow.

1. The soundstage opened up.

2. More detail.

3. My wife came home and asked if I bought better speakers.

4.

Usually there is no difference in measured response with polarity change in an 18dB tweeter crossover.

Audibly there may be a very small change, if it's hard to decide which is best, flip a coin.

Switched the polarity back to 'normal' on the tweeters and this definitely sounds better.....it sounds 'right'.

I've noticed over the last couple months of tweaking that as far as drivers polarity being reversed, it is much more audible with the low frequencies (woofers) and less audible but still very noticeable with the tweeters.
