finallygotmyheresies Posted March 31, 2015 Share Posted March 31, 2015 Has anyone here successfully used a khorn bass bin as a subwoofer and if you have how was it set up? I have a corner I could put my single horn in but I dont know how well it would integrate with floor speakers. I know it didnt go as low as my RSW-12 did but it sure seemed to produce a lot of bass. I should probably just sell it and put the $$ towards a real horn sub. the same corner I would use this in I could put a Table Tuba Long Style upright. CECAA850 Posted March 31, 2015 Share Posted March 31, 2015 I guess I should rephrase. If you want a sub that will go almost as low as an RF-7 ii then it will work fine. To me, that's not a subwoofer. In my own distorted would, I believe that a sub should reach close to 20Hz. Again I ask, what type system will this be used in? Music, HT? Mallette has K-horns in his mainly music system and still felt the need for a sub as do many others. It all depends on your intended use. jason str Posted March 31, 2015 Share Posted March 31, 2015 I'm not a fan of having subs placed behind me but if you cross it over low enough you may be OK. The only way to know if it will to be to your liking is to try it out. The lower you cross it over the harder it will be to tell where the bass is coming from, experimentation is key.
