Mallette's excellent recordings

I just downloaded seven recordings from Dave's blog. While I haven't listened to all of each one yet, the one titled, "earthandallstars" is amazing played through my Pono player. The low pipe organ notes put my four TH subs to the test. You can really feel the power of the organ.

I heartily recommend Dave's recordings.

Thank you Dave.

You are welcome, Neil.  That one is the 1861 Hook tracker organ in Marine City, Michigan played by a good friend.  He also wrote the improve on that hymn.  We were traveling the long route to Washington state that summer for a family gathering and stopped to visit.  Did that setup with stuff I was carrying to record my niece's senior recital in about 15 minutes.

I really like that one as well.

BTW, magical mystery goo arrived and I'll be looking for a suitable "before and after" target this weekend for a Hope demo.

EDIT: It just occurred to me this post should be in your "B'Jesus . . . " thread, so I re-posted it there.

On another note.   Do you have any other recordings available for download?  I'm especially interested in any with deep bass, as in a pipe organ,. to demonstrate my DIY 25Hz TH subs.

Thank you, sir.  The bad CDs of the 90s were precisely why I wanted to find out what made them sound so bad.  I still don't know.  Anybody with two good mikes put where their ears want to be and a half decent recorder can beat 90 percent of the crap they sell us.  As I mentioned above, this one wasn't even planned.  Target of opportunity.

A couple of years ago I downloaded a piano recording from Dave. It was by far the best recording I had and really made me love my LaScals's with a sub-woofer. I still have the recording but the LaScala's are gone unfortunately. Dave is a master in my opinion. I could close my eyes and imagine the placement of the piano. Dave confirmed what I was hearing and I then knew my system was right.

At first I thought it read "really made love to my LaScala's..."

Thanks for pointing out more downloads Neil.  Dave, I've enjoyed your Claire de lune many times over.  Thanks.  And that 1861 hook organ recording is goose bumps.

And that 1861 hook organ recording is goose bumps.

You should have heard it on KP-650's, stacked, blowing full blast across 640 acres near Hope.  Goose bumps had goose bumps...

And, Kent, I only have two ears, why would I need more microphones?  :P
