I've seen a couple very detailed threads on veneering but not on adding panels.  I wouldn't mind reading them either if they're out there.

If you are not worried about endgrain just prep your cabinet ( repair what needs to be repaired with Bondo and block sand ).

Start with a side and an end of your sheet to best match your grain pattern and work your way around, if there needs to be a patch panel with non matching grain save it for the bottom where its less likely to be noticed.

Wood glue your panels and clamp to cabinet ( no brads or nails are needed ) then use your router with a flush trim router bit to trim off excess panel overhang.

Use edgebanding for the front cabinet endgrain if you have grilles.

If you are going for a look with no endgrain its best to use veneer, its possible to 45 degree the plywood corners and get them lined up but its easier and better to use veneer face.

Hi Jason -  are all glues the same - I hear of all these special wood glues - is there any type in particular that would be better - tx

why don't you brace them instead it will provide what you are looking for another 1/4" of whatever won't do anything in comparison. Here is a link to how I braced my two sets of H3 I have also got a link to a set of Quarter similar but a little different. Best regards Moray James.

Bracing won't restore the outer panels.

Nico (from the Netherlands) added 9mm onto his University Classics. He doesn't go into a lot of detail, but he would probably answer questions about doing it. The second post mentions it, with some photos.
